For Larson7...concerning roi

edited May 2014 in Poker Chat
Hi L
Actually its the mean roi you need not the actual so you need to work out the roi for each( i assume you only count £5 as a win in £5.50 dym as sky take that to play as well as £1 in a £11 one> so youneed to find the individual roi for each one then add and divide by the number of events to get the mean ie average.

Send me your exact results and i'll work it out for you but total profit isnt enough to put...you need to say something like play 14 £5.50 dyms and won 6 adwon a £11 dym and won it...or the likes..
cheers

    Hi Poshcole
nice one Slipwater . I agree. If I can show the layout(it's the ex maths teacher in me)

1x11 win          15x 5.50 dym's     11 wins. 4 losses.   As don't really double up as there is a charge to play
     Actual profit.   1x10    +.  11x5.     +.    4x0

    Roi for each

     1x( 10/11) x100%.     5x (5/5.5)x100%     4x 0x100%

    90.9 %.                    454.5.%                0%

    Mean roi =. 545.4/15.  %
                  =  36.36. %

You will be getting incorrect answers because you must consider the winning amounts per different outlay then fine the average of those not just lump profits together and outlays together.

I hope this helps and may enable you to do it yourself from now on.

OK Guys can someone help me check the mean ROI on these MTT's please.

I have played 16 qualifying MTTs. In 11 I did not cash or take any bounties (0 ROI for these). In one £5.5 BH my return was £9.20 (ROI 67.27%), in an £11 BH I did not cash but took one bounty so return was £3.75 (ROI?), in in 3 £55 BHs returns were £1,086, £70.32, and £290.55 respectively for ROIs of , I think, 1874.55%, 27.85% and 428.27.

I calculate my mean ROI to be 149.87%, (67.27+1874.55+27.85+428.27) /16, assuming the one where I took one bounty is included as 0, but Sky only shows about 81%.

    Where am I going wrong?

Interestingly, as I did well in the three out of four £55 tourneys I played and the ones I didn't cash in were mostly £5.5 and £11 ones, my overall my gross ROI was about 430%, it's a shame Sky is using mean ROI rather than total ROI!

    hi love
for an mtt you don't cash your roi is -100%
for the rest you just (winnings - buyin)/buyin then% button

for the 11 with no cash = -1100%
    for the 5.50                = 67.72%
    for the 11                   = -65.9%
    for the 55                   = 1874.54%
                                     = 27.85%
     = 428.27%

    total roi                      =  1232.48%
    divide by 16  av     =  77.03%

    hope this helps x

Ah that makes sense now, I had read a previous post that seemed to count loses as 0% rather than the -100% which they should be. Thanks for clarifying that. I am forever in your debt.
