Worst run of results in my life - FACT

edited January 2010 in Poker Chat
Tonight I have just set a new all-time low for myself for MTT cashes, FIFTEEN (15) with no cash.

Gone are the days of regularly cashing in MTT's, I once went on a run of FOURTEEN (14) consecutive DYM cashes, where has that Kevilfish gone? (sigh)

I Know the feeling mate, going through a rough run myself, the tide will turn

If it's 15 MTT's (as opposed to Sit N Go's / DYM's) then it's pretty standard for good players to have  runs of at least this length, if not much longer.

Don't worry - if you keep doing the right things it will turn round soon enough.

I felt I played better but lost a race to knock me out - still no cash though!

I'm finding myself in difficult situations far more often than I used to be, example - early position I raise with AK/AQ, one caller, I miss the flop, make the continuation bet, he calls. I miss the turn again.

This is a situation I've foud myself in so many times recently, what do you do here, I've hit nothing but I was the one that has shown the aggresion in the hand so far, my opponent has shown nothing in this hand that tells us he has made a hand. Do you check the turn and fold to the bet that will come 90% of the time, giving up the pot or bet again hoping our opponent is either fishing for over cards or chasing a draw or even floating the flop to see your action on the turn? However by betting you are losing more chips if the opponent doesn't fold and then if you miss the river, you've got another decision similar to the one above.

Sim, your opponent went in miles ahead with AA. He must have been sick as a dog when you flopped a miraculous straight, then he felt he got what he deserved when he overtook you again. How sick would it have been if his AA lost because you hit the straight?

    17.

Doubled up early on to 4K, I was blinded down, pushed on the small blind with 2K chips (blinds at 150/300), BB calls with Q8, he had 9K chips. I show T7 of spades, flop a ten and then there was runner-runner straight thing which sent me out 13th with 8 paid.

I have found that people tend to play far to  aggressive (thanks TK) from the start and will push with anything they will also call down the streets with just a draw regardless of what the bet is, which is fine once in a while but it happens far to often and so the variance of winning dimineshes i now check out these people on sharkscope and nearly all are deep in the red!!!  Like you kev i am getting sucked out on far to often if you push back its an all in fest and i like to play poker not just chuck it all in and hope, the game play only seems to improve late on into a tournament once you get past the idiots
