Sky Poker forums will be temporarily unavailable from 11pm Wednesday July 25th.
Sky Poker Forums is upgrading its look! Stay tuned for the big reveal!
I try to watch 861 as often as I can, probably 2 - 3 days a week.
I often see the 5 minute fill that gets played at 55 past the hour featuring James Hartigan and Anna Fowler where they talk about how great the community is.
Given that the Sky Poker Tour seems to have died....... is this still true?

but i wouldn't know - i don't post here anymore & play much less than i used to.
PS it was nice to see tommyd back after 6 months though
Just a thought.....
I can understand from a marketing perspective that Sky has to do what is best for the business but a flagship once a year community live event would be fantastic. Surely this is possible?
It's not Sky poker that makes the community - it's us Simon. OK Sky provided the means with the SPTs and the forums but it's meet ups like Blackpool and Hitsquads date at Luton that will keep the community thriving hopefully.
Friday 14th-Sat 15th June
Some are meeting up at tommy Ducks for a meal & then on to the Casino or you can meet us in the bar at the casino
Friday 13th - 8pm - £55.00 - 15K Stack (Re-entry available)
Saturday 14th - 8pm - £35.00 - 20K Satack (Re-entry available)
Saturday Night also see's England v Italy in the World Cup which should be on the big screens & BIG Fun.
Based on the interest so far we should have a fair few numbers from the community attending.
Plus.........Don't Forget its FlashJonny's Birthday Bash
That showed the true spirit of the community
Thank goodness it resulted in a positive ending!
Its sad that the SPT's have ended!
but there are some great people on the forum and some great games in the lobby.
Maybe one day soon the SPT's will be revived but its great that community nights are taking place
respect to those who give their time to organise them!
Good luck at the tables (unless I'm in the hand of course)

understandably perhaps when there isn't one booked people say it, which is frustrating, but I would hope they'll be around after the next UKPC
Many Sky regulars think there is room for both, I know, but the UKPC's have big guarantees, that need to qualify as many sky players as possible so you can see why both would not be scheduled to qualify concurrently.
there are a multitude of opportunities for players of all bankrolls to play the UKPC. its not elitist at all.
It happens also to attract a broader range of players including UK circuit regulars who might not normally play on Sky Poker and might as a consequence do so, as well as providing Sky Sports coverage for Sky Poker, and poker in general, so has to be good news for the growth of the site doesn't it?
Quite a few SPTs were won by people not regulars (some had never even played with Sky) on sky poker either! Some became so, some didn't
