oh my fukin days. chucking him off the team for that, he done nothing wrong, he would be well with in his rights to start fighting with the spanish guys who were making threats towards him, he handled it very well.
"My PokerStars contract requires, sorry required, me to play 5 UKIPT events during the year, where PokerStars would pay the buyin (€700 - €1,000 EUR/GBP) and give me £250 GBP towards travel expenses. Flights and hotels aren't as cheap as £250 so I would always end up paying a very large amount out of my own pocket"
Hard to feel too sorry for him.
Must be horrible forking out a few hundred quid from your own pocket for £1000+ in return when you're a pro.
He only plays 12c/25c PLO online.
Poor reason to get rid though, makes you wonder if they were looking for an excuse to terminate the contract. If that's the only reason then it's obviously nonsense.
If I was him I would contact an employment law specialist, most of them will give you a free consultation of half an hr or so. On the face of it you would not have employment rights here but after the amount of time he has been with them and the fact that he cant play for anyone else as it were while under contract to PS then there may be an angle to take this further.
