Hinty hint - This wasn't a chopped pot

What a shove by villian. His shove screams set and I think you hit the nuts hitting your straight and had the flush draw too :)

Villain A8sp or 78/84/74. You must be either 56 or 44.....at a guess.

I'm never folding 910sp here, even if 5000bb deep ;)

I managed to do almost a full stack in this tourney last week at 15/30 after flopping 2nd nuts on a draw heavy board. He had flopped it. But I covered him by like 600 chips so still well in the game ;)

Getting it in with 44 or 9sTs here is  a big leak. 9sTs is only a slight favourite over the bare nuts... against every other hand it's a 40% dog, and 500bb deep we should not be getting it in as a 40% dog.

This deep, I'm not getting it in with anything but the nuts w/o history. With history then 88 I might GII too. Ideally though I'd want the nuts + redraw and might wait for a safe turn before getting it in with 56.

So if it was me here and I played the hand like you have, I'd probably just have 5s6s - for bluffs I might 5bet with As5s and As6s because we block the straight + villain can't have straight + redraw, but that's a pretty advanced play and I'd only do it vs very capable opponents.

    Q1 - A set 777 or 444
    Q2 -78 89 85 something shoddy ish
Q3 - I would never be looking to get it in here even with 888, I would be calling his 3bet and hitting the turn hard if it isn't a spade or connecting. Way too early IMO to go crazy with any hands.

Ivan, if you played these mega stacks, trust me, you'd get it in with 44 vs the average villain that frequents this type of tournament. If that is a ''big leak'' then so be it.

    But its not :)

FWIW Ivan I do actually agree with you.....this deep you'd want the nuts to really go to war. 2nd nuts sometimes....

I did wink after the 910s comment.....I might at least see a turn card before committing my stack ;)*

    *note the wink again.

There is no need have a 4bet bluffing range on the flop considering how deep we are + villain looks like a rec player.

If you have anything other than 56 or 88 I'm not a fan of gii otf.

Key point here being what mr hyhstydhythry said about the average player in this MTT and also the history i've had with this fishy rec. I wouldn't even think about 4betting to get in anything here other than 56 or maybe 88 in any other MTT, especially this deep. Plus I would never have a 4bet bluffing range here because these guys don't fold :-). Average rec in this mtt doesn't value their stack and just go with hands that look good on this board. Amount of times they will turn over AA or A8 or similar, you'd be surprised.

Anyway I had 44 and he had 8 6 and got there. Pair + Gutshot is like the nuts for some players in this standard. Just thinking with reads how wide I could actually get in on this board. I was in love with my pocket 4s in this spot lol.
