awful board OOP large stack just give up?

i knew i was behind but by the time he jammed i just knew i commited too many chips into the pot so i sign called.
TBH i get it happening in both cash and MTTs regularly. when ever it's me who is doing the betting they will just call those bets i do rather than raise.

my poker when in position is very good but when i'm out of position i seem to be loosing lots of big pots and only ever winning small pots.

Q. as i'm going to struggle to put them on a hand is it best to just give up on the turn and preserve my chips?
