Decisions have to be made - but some decisions are so wrong and leave nasty taste

Before the adverse weather, I did inform sky of my unability to make SPT Newcastle, in the hope that some of the other players could qualify for the event. Having now seen that those seats have been "sold" is very disappointing to myself and other that spent hours trying to qualify and plenty of cash!!!!! This is the first "wrong" decision.

I am aware that the current weather your all receiving could cause difficulties, but this "buy-in" does take all that is special away from the SPT, and i hope that it is indeed a "one-off".

I also hope all the additional entrance fees is added to the prize fund.

However, and I have nothing against any individual, or indeed any person (except my ex-wife maybe) some of the posts and things I have seen on here have left a very bitter taste. How can somebody PM  in order to try get a seat?? This is WRONG WRONG WRONG

I, like Colin from Shetland, would travel to SPT at any cost, and thoroughly enjoy the experience. Its always great meeting those players we play with online throughout the year..

This will not stop me from competing at Luton and Glasgow however, and i look forward to seeing many of you there.


Ps this is not meant to take anything away from the great job that the organisers of SPT do. Im sure everyone that has been to or attends Newcastle will appreciate it.  Carry on the good work.

Hello! Trust you are coping at work at the moment....

I explained last night the reasoning behind the decision to offer nine seats for direct sale last night. We're in unusual circumstances, and perfect solutions are few....

With regard to the request, a lady would have purchased one of those seats if it were not for deposit limits on her account. A player with a seat who definitely cannot make the event, and had already informed us to that effect, then offered to give the seat to the unfortunate player which was very generous of him and I think indicative of a fine community spirit. I offered to take the suggestion to the Sky Suits, no more than that, where it is currently being considered.

As I say, a set of unusual circumstances leading to decisions we think are in the best interests of the event and in all likelihood not going to be applicable from Leg 3 onwards. See you there hopefully.

Hiya and thanks I am just about coping out here without my nightly poker fix :( choppers all running and looking good for next weeks homecoming.

I understand about the 9 seats being sold, however the transfer/delay of purchase of seat does smack of favouritism. I myself could have transferred my seat to one of my community friends. I implore the suits not to allow this to happen.

Good luck with the event, I know the tremendous amount of work you put into it all year and on the days.
Hopefully, work permitting I will be at at least 2more of this years tour.

I hope everyone enjoys the SPT experience, and as im working nightshifts, i will check the updates at 4am during my only 15-minute break (cough)

I agree with Jaegerbomb.  Requests to give seats to other people have been flatly refused on several ocassions previously.  I am ambivalent about whether or not that is correct, but don't think the policy should change mid series, as it would be unfair on those previously refused.  At Manch there were 3 or 4 seats sold pre tournement to direct buy ins who happened to be at the casino, if the requestor turns up, this may happen again.
