Wrong to shove! Should I have called?

edited September 2014 in Sit & Go Strategy
This hand is from a Six-Max (Speed) game, let's assume no reads.

When my opponent raises to 660, I'm pretty certain my subsequent shove was silly - not sure what I was thinking there, but what would the correct play have been? Just a call?

i would just call the min raise of 90 with jj by reraising to 270 you are asking for trouble as here.
then we see a cheap flop & go from there.
if you are happy getting it aipf with jj that's fine.. not sure if it's a winning play long term though?
someone else might be able to tell you, i can't.
i only go aipf with kk or aa maybe qq v opponent i have reads on. jj is boarder line for me... too many hands are beating us or we are at the races, which we want to avoid whenever we can.
even aipf with kk is debatable at times. lol

not liking all these hands with 'no reads' either.
reads are crucial to everything we do, without them you are making life difficult for yourself.
you should have some sort of read on every player at your table within a couple of orbits or so, or from previous times you've played against them.
i'm thinking you need to spend some time on this either from watching them without playing at the table or by being more observant when playing. just my opinion of course Peter.

Your play is fine tbh mate. 3bet is good size, when he 4bets its jam or fold, Never ever a call. Just when he 4bets you after UTG opening his range is v v v narrow and JJ should probably be binned -> With the readless assumption.
