Horses for 02/9/14

edited September 2014 in Betting Chat
Hamilton 3.15 Quest For Colour 5/2 Winner
Failed to pull up any trees in maidens, but improved a chunk when landing a 9-runner event on handicap bow at Redcar (1¼m, good to firm) in July. Just 3 lb higher here and has to be high on the list.
Carlisle 2.30 Midlander 2.75/1 x
Shaped well when runner-up in 6f maidens first 2 starts and bounced back when again filling same spot in 6f Ripon nursery last time. Sets the standard.
Soon led, ridden when headed well over 1f out, weakened inside final furlong, lost 2 places final 75 yds (op 11/8)
Kempton 7.20 Holiday Magic 5/2 Winner    Promising sort. 3rd of 12 in maiden (22/1) at Wolverhampton (8.6f, all weather) 7 days ago, caught further back than ideal. Has best chance on form.
Win singles,doubles and treble

    Goodwood 3.30 Flash Fire 5/2 2nd

Placed first 2 starts and finally got the job done at Nottingham (6f) last time, though he had to work hard. Potential for better still now heading into nurseries. Tracked winner after 2f, challenged over 1f out, driven and not quicken final furlong (tchd 7/4)

    Goodwood 3.30 George Bowen 5/1 x
Knew job when winning 7-runner maiden at Carlisle. No impact up at Group 2 level next time but back on track when fifth in nursery at the Glorious meeting and should be thereabouts under Moore.
Held up and soon in last, pushed along 2f out, no impression on leaders after, one pace (tchd 11/4)
    Goodwood 4.40 Dolphin Village 4/1 x
Got a good strike rate in handicaps, landing back-to-back wins at Thirsk and Leicester (both 12f) this summer. Good third of 16 at York last time and sure to go close if stamina holds.
Went 2nd after 2f, with leader halfway to over 2f out, soon ridden and weakened (op 3/1)
Goodwood 4.40 Statutory 7/2 x Three-time winner for Mark Johnston last year and some respectable efforts in defeat for new yard, fourth over 2m at York last time.

Close up, ridden and not quicken over 2f out, soon outpaced, no danger final furlong (op 5/2 tchd 3/1)
    2x2= 4 win doubles

    Goodwood 5.10 Secret Hint 13/2 x
Promise sole start at 2 yrs and built on that when landing a 6f Doncaster maiden on return in July. Too keen when well held on handicap bow over 7f here subsequently and well worth another chance.
Raced alone against near side rail, not on terms with main group leaders, ridden and hung right from 2f out but had made progress, chased leaders final furlong, kept on one pace, ran well (op 7/2)
    Hamilton 2.10 Muhaarib Al Emarat 15/2 x
Left debut effort behind when runner-up in an 8-runner Catterick maiden (6f, good to firm) in July. However, not so good on an easier surface at Carlisle since and more needed on nursery bow here.
Dwelt, took keen hold and soon close up, ridden over 2f out, weakened over 1f out (op 9/1

    E/w singles and double
