What would you do?

edited September 2014 in Poker Chat

Hypothetical scenario that you may well have found yourself in...

You play online against someone regularly, then one day you spot a leak in their game that you can use to your advantage. Lets assume you are friendly with this person, albeit not necessarily best mates. So...

- Do you tell them about it?
- If the boot was on the other foot, would you expect them to tell you?
- Would you tell other players? Or is that poor form?
- Have you found yourself in this situation? What did you do?

Thoughts?

    Or

-Tell them it's a great play and encourage them to do it more.

Are we talking friendly as in, have a bit of banter with them in the chatbox, or as in know them in real life and drink down the pub now and then (or more frequently)?

If it's the former then I will take their money and expect them to do the same if the boot was on the other foot.

Wouldn't share the leak with others, as I'd be reducing my own winnings and likely either a) leading the player to realise their leak and fix it or b) get beat up so much that they stop playing poker.

If it's the latter then I would chat about it over a few pints and then metaphorically slap myself when they fake the leak next time we play in order to double bluff me!
