How many bad beats to bad players can you take.

edited September 2014 in Poker Chat
It is like a constant attack of bad players, bingo player and fishermen. Ok we all take a risk now and then , However this is day in day out. Won 200 pounds , within a week gone and 100 more. Bad beat bad beat bad beat. Just needs to be a little bit of fairness about it. Personally i love sky poker , love the set up and the layout and the ease of play, Really like the bounty hunter games.  I have stayed loyal, i know i am not the best player in the world, but i am good enough to hold my own with post players. All i ask is STOP REWARDING BAD PLAY AND BAD PLAYERS EVERY BLOODY TIME. You will lose lots of good spending customers .........................................FFS !!!!!!!!!!!

Really sorry you have had a bad run Steve, though from your previous posts, it appears it is not the first time.

I'm not having sport with you, but how exactly can the site (Sky Poker) stop these happening?

Post some hands, ideally 8 or 10. & I guarantee you that a whole shed load of help & advice will come your way. You could also read the "WAR ON TILT" thread on the Community, or the latest Blog on Sky Poker, which is essentially an abstract from "The Mental Game of Poker".

Do all those things, & I guarantee you will be a better player, & see these things differently.

    Hope your luck turns soon.

The reply by D7H may seem a little harsh, but I'll tell you one thing for certain. In poker, in the long-term, the better players ALWAYS win the most, & the lesser players always lose the most. Thats not luck.

Together, we can help you be a better player, & understand these bad beats.

You even think they happen "EVERY TIME", but thats not true, is it? You mean "sometimes", "quite often", "too often". But nobody is going to take you seriously if you claim it is EVERY TIME. That's just selective memory.

Come on, post some hands & we'll get started.

    Have a great weekend, too.

We are doing something wrong if, when we log on to our favourite poker site each time, be it Sky Poker or any other site, if we are not as excited as a kid on Xmas Eve. Poker should be fun, but you don't seem to be enjoying it much right now. But you could enjoy it....

Have a think about the odds of getting a bad beat with the hands you play --- the only way to lower these odds is to play better hands

THink I musta missed THAT post! ;-)
Being serious tho, I feel your pain.  Why not post a few "key" hands in the clinic from your losing streak with some details about the tourney, the opposition, your thinking along the streets etc. You will get feedback.  It will be invaluable.   Also, what is your bankroll & what games do you play?  MOST importantly, WHY do you play?  THIS is the key.....

Could Sky Poker not provide a game that does away with the flop, turn and river? So only your dealt hands are played? Kinda like Top Trumps. That may eliminate all the tiresome "bad-beat" whining.

Steve, I've just had a thought.

Why not watch the Ch 861 Show tonight? (repeated tomorrow).

The Guest is Matt Bates. He gets the same cards as you & me, but he plays them better than we do.

This is his record on 2014.

5 main event wins (the most on the site this year)
13 main event final tables this year.
4 mini wins, 9 final tables
Won The Super Roller on 7th Sep for £4,741

Won £500 on the Jackpot 5th & 1st in the main and mini events on 16th Jan

Just watch him for an hour, on the Show tonight, & you'll end up a better player.

i always go out to a bad beat which used to really annoy me but stopped looking at it like that...

if i get all my chips in good and get a worse hand to call then i have played it well....i cant control the card that comes...i know over time i will be on the plus side against these players.

i have played live for years and have made a good profit every year...

i play online more for fun,if i played every night etc then i would start to make a profit over time.........good luck to you steve and try to ignore the haters

You never go out of a tournament with an underpair? Or lose a race? Or miss a draw? Or outkicked?
  • edited September 2014
if that's true then you are too nitty and are probably jamming your short-stack with AK and getting looked up by all kinds of stuff = outdraws.

if you always exit to a bad beat, then it's not the RNG that's causing you to miss out on £££

an old adage: if you're never caught bluffing then you arent bluffing enough.

apply that to never getting it in bad

All i can say to the post is

U WANT TO PLAY BAD PLAYERS U LOVE TO BE CALLED WHEN THEY GOT BAD CARDS ITS A DREAM THING IS U ARE THINKING SHORT TERM NOT LONG TERM SHORT TERM THESE SO CALLED BAD PLAYERS WILL CRACK YOUR ACES ETC WHEN THEY HIT 2 PAIR VS YA ACES  AND THEY GET LUCKY HITTING THE RIVER BUT LONG TERM U WILL BEAT THE BAD PLAYERS
  • edited September 2014
But these bad players are bad!--- They do bad things, and then we are forced to play bad against them, and then we might get unlucky and lose, and then we might as well cry!
