I've been watching the Australian racing for some time now.
Junoob used to be trained by John Dunlop and was plagued by injury but has thrived since joining Chris Waller, culminating in a group 1 victory.
But I like the look of Hawkspur and The Offer.
Hawkspur was the only Aussie bred in the Caulfield Cup. From the start he pulled too hard and shot off at a suicidal pace.
front rank throughout against quality opposition he should have capitulated in the last couple of furlongs but amazingly was less than three lengths behind the winner. Given his normal hold up race without exerting too much energy in the early stages I think he will surprise a few better fancied horses.
The Offer intrigues me. The jockey in my opinion never tried an inch in the Caulfield Cup his ride was more of an education but his finishing position head in chest belied his effort and the pedigree of trainer Gai Waterhouse is second to none in Australia.
Looking to the future My good friend David Menuisier has a terrific 2 year old unraced filly in his yard Havre De Paix.
It's sad he hasn't received more patronage this year.
You couldn't find a better more devoted trainer! up until now he hasn't had the ammunition to show his potential but next years crop are a different class thanks to a few owners who believe in his potential.
Training in Pulborough where the facilities are amazing with Amanda Perrett on one side, Luke Dace the other and Grand National winning jockey Leighton Aspell round the corner.
Its worth buying a share in a horse for the atmosphere alone.
I hope you have a great show and win loads with your selections.
Thank you very much in advance for your insight
Also would it be possible if you give a shout out about GaryQQQ's walk he did for charity...he is getting close to his 5k target...here is link for Thread about it....
