Oh my word, it's tougher at the top (or in the top 10) than I imagined! Hey tell tale t**.... Before today, how many points had Sue Smith had in the competition? Before today, how many runners had Sue Smith had in the competition? The answer to both those questions begins in Z and ends in O As for my remedial stable, I'll have you know I DID pick my two horses, but it just so happens that they didn't run very well. May I politely suggest, that you lot stop messing about and get your own house or stables in order and support me at the top of the leaderboard, so we can all have a day out at the races for winning the League of Leagues. Yes, keep up the good work Dart and the rest of you lot in the top 6 , good picks. Are there many individual prizes for the top 10 or just top 3?

I don't think there is any prize that The Dartster would rather have, than just having bragging rights over us 'know alls'
It's all good fun guys, I've said it before I do appreciate people like Terry putting in the time and effort to organize these things and the community it helps create.
The term 'punching above my weight' applies very much to my run in the top 10 in this competition.
These days I'm not even a Saturday afternoon punter, so my initial selection criteria goes something like......
Sue Smith = Harvey Smith
I always remember the Harvey Smith advert, which was something like....
Harvey Smith 'its got a kick like a mule' Crackerbarrel'
Me......
I like 'Crackerbarrel' right that'll do for me I'll put Sue Smith in my stable!
Then suddenly I'm in the top 10 and got a chance of winning this thing, so I take it a bit more seriously, I see Sue Smith hasn't even had a runner in the competition, so I start doing a bit of research and decide I can't be having trainers in my stable based on my liking for cheese!
So there's a bit of inside knowledge on how to succeed in fantasy racing competitions
I've already mentioned this to The Dartser, but comrades, maybe start thinking of your team for Cheltenham!! There are 12 scoring races in the festival. You can only make 2 subs per month. So maybe use Feb's subs to start maneauvering Trainers/Jockeys into your teams that are more likely to have runners in the scoring races. - Just a thought.

I'm saying this as someone who wont be amongst the party going to Cheltenham when the league wins the league of leagues but might it be an idea for suggested transfers in and out?
I thought I'd put Venetia Williams in from the start and hadn't so I could have been contributing more to the overall total but am more than happy to change in a bid to help league victory.

I can post some thoughts but for goodness sake I am not the complete oracle, I was the idiot who took venetia Williams out for December. Having said that there are some people in the groups that you wouldn't want for Cheltenham Races and some that you need to think about getting in.
I will post some thoughts in the days leading up to the next transfer deadline.

I wasn't trying to suggest it had to be you Terry - I merely meant that if anyone had any suggestions then put them forward. Anything that helps boost the overall league position is worth trying.
There's a must combination for Cheltenham, AND it would mean me exiting Twiston-Davies and Nicholls.... And giving this advice could scupper my chances of catching the 'springer' that is The Dart. But at the end of the day, us winning the League of Leagues is more important. Mullins AND Walsh are a must IMO. Short priced fav for the 3 scoring events on the Tuesday. Prob fav for The Neptunes and Champagne Fever in the Queen Mother on the Wednesday. Vautour, possibly Annie Power and Djakadam on the Thursday. Kalkir, and no doubt the fav for The Albert Bartlett on the Friday. Ok there's double points on offer for The Gold Cup, but u can't have it all ways.
February transfers now available but keep an eye out for March.
Suggest you have Ruby and Willie mullins by March. Ok don't necessarily select their horses cause they will be so short(usually best to get longer odds on placed selections than odds on winners in this)
in the second group of jockeys and trainers, it could be good to have Darryl Jacob as main rider for Munir.
in the fouth group Paul townend should come in for some good rides at Cheltenham.
Fifth group don't think Tinkler is going to get many rides.
trainers, it might be useful to have Gordon Elliott for Cheltenahm from 3rd group
apart from those I cant see many standouts but if you know differently comment and help us all.
In Response to Re: Telegraph Fantasy Jump Racing 2014/5!!!! : Just made 100% short term losses for hopefully bigger gains in March... Here's hoping. Posted by joesman1
Same here, with Cheltenham very much in mind, I've approached this transfer window as part 1 of a 2 part window, the success or failure of the transfers will not be entirely evident until after The Gold Cup.
Come on guys lets see if we can win the league of leagues, its been a while since I had a day out at the races.
