Is there anything I can change?

Played for an hour this morning and ended -3 BI's after last night being up 8 buy ins. Couple of hands here that I just payed without really thinking, and as Im in a period of self evaluating and trying to fix the 'leaks' in my game, thought Id ask for some advice from the cash players as to how they wud play these couple of hands.

This one I fell into the un-detectable set trap....Again, can I do anything different here? Can I fold? Maybe the paired board could save me, and yeh maybe I got married to my hand, but say the flop was 2 5 7 for example - can u get away?

It just seems that theres 2 buy ins gone in the blink of an eye. - Have I been unlucky? - well my oppos have deffo hit both flops hard, - is folding too tight?

The third buy in I lost was just a sick outdraw not even gonna give the clown the time of day by posting the hand. Any advice much appreciated...DOHH

Hi dox7 matey i cant tell ya wot yer need to know here as yer way better than me lol.I just wanna say that nearly every exit from my tourny play yesterday, and i played alot i kept on going out with a very high PP on a very dry flopped board and ran into a set each and every time.Sometimes it was prob my fault for overbetting and being shoved at and then calling but mostly it was them shoving at me.I kept on thinking surely it must be a bluff this time but it never was.I dont think ive seen so many flopped sets in a day like i did yesterday.Oh well i guess its just bad luck.gl m8 dav

I've only started playing cash, but on first hand as your OOP I'd opt for a 5/6 x raise to really test them, then if you get outdrawn its definitely bad play from them.

In second one perfect opening raise, but I think he just called knowing if he hit he'd probably get your stack, on 2 8 8 flop hard to fold tbh but saying that the guy in 1st hand called with 78s so he cud hav had trips 8's.

Dohhhhhhh, I really enjoy reading your posts. You and James post the GREATEST stuff on here. I am a true novice in comparison so I wont give advice but I'll ask a question. Firstly, the reason I'm asking the question is because I have seen you described as a very good player and as an AGGRESSIVE player (On master cash and on TP shows). In each case, what hand did you put him on before you pushed allin? Were you confident you were in front? What was your thought process when you got raised both times?

you can definitely fold in both hands, think the 2nd one is easier to find a fold though. Maybe just flat call the minraise in the 1st one

imo possibly the only part i would play different is the first hand raise slightly more

whether that would have changed there calls i dont no

Cheerz chaps, its a shame these things get moved from the main forum area, as the number of replies is always lower, so rly appreciate u taking the time to have a look.

Dav, it doesnt matter how gud I or u r, I was wanting an opinion from someone on the outside looking in, as sometimes its easier that way - n appreciate ur comments. Same with seagull, - when trying to put these guys on 2 cards, its impossible., but in genral, when they bet they believe they r winning. So that narrows their hand range down, but still believe my aces and kings r above their range......

Offshoot in my opinion is the best cash game player on sky poker, n probably have to agree with him that I cud have gotten away or at least limited the damage, its something i'll look at in future games.

Ty guys for the replies, much appreciated, DOHH

Alright  Doh, dont think you played the first 1 too bad at all.  I probably would have put him on a pocket pair 88+ or flush draw on he flop and  AQ, JQ, KQ hearts on the turn , which your beating. Hard to put him on 78 maybe 22 before that.

On the second one alarm bells would have started ringing when he raised your re-raise on the flop even if it was jus for the minimum.  I would have given up then

Easy to say in hindsight tho without a 15 second timer coming down on you.  GL mate

Take my advice onboard and i'll see you on the 2p/4p tables very soon LOL

+1 although i would not flat the minraise with only four pounds left

The first hand is very hard to fold imo (unless their aggression factor is very low), the only thing that could save us is that it smacks their range pretty good,Player 1 limps on the button so their range would usually be suited connectors or small pairs, the second player probably would have a similar range in hope of playing a multiple way pot with massive implied odds with player 1 as they are deep.
Even with this information im not getting off this hand 95% of the time and im not even 100% if it is +ev to fold.

The second hand i would definely call the reraise and reevaluate the turn as they will most likely play the hand staight forwardly out of position after you called a reraise on that board.
If the player bluffed with a very high frequency i would loose my stack here but i would let him bluff into me on the turn and river instead of shoving the flop. (what hands will called your 4bet shove that you are beating except maybe jj or qq.)

In these hand you may of been on winning tilt.(i would have felt unstopable after being up 8 buyins lol.)

    Deuce

I'd prob fold to the min raise in the first one if I were deeper stacked, but as you only had 12.30 left I don't mind the shove.  I can probably get away from the second one though after he raises it to £6.  If he's bluffing me, fair dos, it's a sick bluff, but I think we're behind most of the time here, unless you've got some information on him that I am not privy to.
