More AK confusion

edited December 2014 in Cash Strategy
The 4-bet made very little sense to me. I've played a bit with oppo, they weren't on tilt and I hadn't been taking the mikey too much to this point. I know they play higher stakes so the money may mean a bit less to them, but even so...

At a non-mastercash table, sat there with 100bb I'd call this off against almost all oppos

At mastercash with over 300bb, should it still be a snap call (ie is this me being way too nitty again), or would it be a major leak to be gambling when this deep?

Would he ever do this here with AQ? I would certainly hope not, it's a ridic move no matter what he has but he's certainly more likely to play that way with KK or AA than something that you beat.

you need to be above about 47.7% of his range to call and you are absolutely not.

I would be folding in that spot sitting on 300BB stack, as they are on tilt and you have a tight image, its very poor play by the oppo holding QQ as you are only calling with KK and AA, so they are only getting called if they are beat, So they know you are folding hands such as AK and losing value.

Easy, easy fold. Simply not profitable to get 300 BBs in pre A high. I would even fold QQs. And KK to some players.

Yeah against a shove like that 300bb deep your calling range should be KK and AA only. And KK might be a fold vs some but bleh I hate folding KK. If they have AA then I console myself by the fact they could have got my stack by making a standard 4-bet. So all they've done by open shipping AA is losing money vs the rest of my range that isn't KK. As such when I play AA better than they have vs them I'm going to be making more $!
