Just played some cash poker with Finton Gavin

On business in beautiful Galway and played a couple of games over here I had the pleasure of playing  some cash hands with Finton Gavin, good laugh and has a very good read although how the casino boss didn't spot my aces a mile off I will never know!

Nice guy too, even gonna try a pot limit Omaha tourney on Thursday too if I am still here.

    Hey Solar

    When I was in Galway in December I also played against him at the UKIPT in the €550 side event he didn't play in the main event as he was tournament director. He is a really aggressive player and loves to bluff absolutely loaded too I think he won €980k at EPT Barcelona mbn. Was this at the radisson hotel? or was this at there tiny casino with the computer based roulette machines?

    Yeah it was at the casino you describe, he played pretty easy on us but when he had a hand he didn't half knock me off pots lol, I took a few quid early on off another player so all in all a good night !

    They love their poker in Galway.  I believe the European Amateur Team Championship Cup, which Ireland won in 2008, is sat behind the counter of the pub opposite the Eglington Casino in Galway.  They like their beer too...

    Des, I am warming up for APAT with a PLO Omaha tourney there tomorrow (played 2 NLHE already this week), I will pop in the pub and check out the trophy too!
