She would be an amazing ambassador! she's the reason i got into poker and she's an exceptionally intelligent and articulate person... Posted by poppy765
Didn't think it was possible for my admiration for this lady to be any higher. It's amazing how often people's principles go out the window when money is involved. Not this individual. As usual she has made her decision with grace and style. What a wonderful lady
Please read the article again and then explain why such a principled person would sign up to Sky, who already have casino, vegas ,bingo etc.
Someone who resigns because her employer is going to do something with which she fundamentally disagrees is hardly likely to join another organisation that already does the same.
It would be nice but as others have said very unlikely (unless Tikay can work is magic) as it would be hypocritical. In this world of dog eat dog and in it for the dosh... how refreshing it is to see someone standing up for what they think is right despite the financial hit.
Really easy to have high principles when you don't need the money.
Stick Vicky in a council flat with 3 kids and see if she can give that gig up.
I think it totaly smells of hyporcrite to me, she can't endorse a casino but she can endorse a poker site - wow gambling is gambing don't matter how good or bad you are at the games you decide to play.

I didn't say she should be a Sky ambassador. That would be ridiculous. I just said she should be on the poker channel, talking poker. I am not convinced that would compromise her admirable principles Posted by dragon1964
The only thing I have against her is that "only connect" programme - As if I didn't feel stupid enough watching University Challenge on a Monday evening. For crying out loud I cant even name the symbols used to pick the questions let alone come up with any actual answers.

1. if she lived in a council flat and was skint with 3 kids she wouldnt be a sponsored pro or vice-versa.
2. by that standard no-one of means can make principled sacrifices / stands.
3. it implies people who are not well-off are incapable of principled sacrifice.
there is a whiff of hypocricsy as there are no doubt problem gamblers in the 'net depositor' player pool, and promoting it as a game of skill may make it more enticing to people trying to chase losses.
but she obviously doesnt see it that way. she was happy to promote the game she loves, but not happy to promote pit games. i dont think she is looking for plaudits from hoi polloi, or cares.
She is one of my very favourite celebs and the reason I started playing poker. I go back and read her book over and over.
Really admire her for sticking to her principles, even though personally I think poker and gambling will always go hand in hand. The teampro players do have their faces used to promote just about everything so I can see why she was uncomfortable.

Your missing the point of why she quit Pokerstars. She differentiates between playing online poker and being sucked in by these Casino games and I can see her point of view totally.
