I'm planning on attending this leg and staying over for a day or two. Even if I don't play the main event it'll be great to play some of the side events and get my first live experience, & get to see everyone again! (and some new faces of course who weren't at the Manchester leg).

I'd suggest the night before Doh.  A nice tournie is on friday at Luton plus some very very nice 1/2 cash action.

Oh and to the guys who haven't played live before, I'm certain that Sky will organise a few rounds of practice hands to let you get a feel for it, as long as you arrive an hour or so before the tournie is due to start.

Get yourself down there Dohx7, you'll love it, & it's always good to put faces to names.

There's a (an?) Hotel 50 yards away, a Pubby B & B jobbie, for about £40 a night, or a semi-posh Days Inn 100 yards away at about £60 per night. The "tradition" is to stay over on Friday & Saturday nights, & we kinda play all night on the Saturday generally.

The Luton CardRoom is very unusual, unique almost, in that there is lots of room to wander around "between" Tables, so anyone can rail the players.

It also has the distinction of being one of only a few Casinos that do NOT permit Customers to wear Trainers - if you wear Trainers, you will NOT be admitted. Grown-ups only, see? ;)

Most of us will be there the Friday night as well as the Saturday.

    Make sure you are.

I thought it was over 18's only? - not 'grown ups only' - and I cant believe ur definition of a grown up is someone who wears shoes rather than trainers.

Your replies are so patronising sometimes.

I really get wound up by them and I x'd this window off once, to try and bite my tongue and ignore it to avoid bother, but is so infuriating ive come back to try and get my anger across without blowing up!

Ur a gr8 bloke, for that reason I cannot believe u wud intend it to come across as it does, but u said the same sort of thing in the chatbox in the deepie the other day, n I personally cannot stand that attitude.

    DOHH !!

What you have to remember that Tony comes from an era(victorian) were ALL people wore shoes and trainers were not invented, as he did not direct this at anyone why get "shirty" about it m8. Please do remember that you WILL NOT get into LutonG casino with trainers on and they will not accept any sob story if you try(they have turned regulars away for this).

50ps dont play so there is a 1/1 game but I doubt that will run on a Friday night, as the 1/1 only really runs on slow nights.

the 1/2 is 50 min 300 max with the  option for one live straddle.

tikay - i take it that the no hoodie rule is relaxed for this event then?

We arent in the victorian era now, women have a vote, black people r the same as white people, and guess what, grown ups wear trainers ;)

    Groan.......

Dohx7, it was a joke. That was why I put ";)" behind it. (As this Forum does not have proper smileys). Did you not see the ";)"?

I'm really not sure why everyone wants to see aggro where there is none.

Perhaps I should refrain from (attempted) humour in future replies to you.

Thank goodness you realised I was jesting Col! Such a prickly thread, this!

But as you know, I was perfectly serious about the "no-Trainers" rule at G-Luton. I have twice Posted urging Dohx7 to come to Luton, in good heart & spirit, & I'd hate for him to be turned away - as he would if he turned up in trainers. And now he thinks I have an "attitude". If he did but know me, eh Col?

    Hey-ho.

Me too, I'm wearing them now, I wear them all day, every day. I am not justifying the Rule. I'm simply explaining it. Trainers & Hoodies will NOT be permitted by the Casino Management.

I hope they don't object to me wearing slippers?! I hate it when these ruffians turn up wearing shoes ;-)

I wanted to stay off the Thread henceforth, but I must comment on that.

TY Fitz, thats very gracious of you. Please remember, I don't (deliberately or intentionally) do "rude"....In both cases, I was trying to help, & do so with a little humour.

    a) Because I represent Sky Poker, & "rude" is not done.

    b) It's the way I am in "real life" - I abhor rudeness.

Humour (attempted) does not transfer to paper very well, & the lack of smileys on this Site does not help. That's why I used the ";)" for Dohx7.

Have a good evening Mr Fitz, take care, & thank you.
