£100 starting bank xchange betting thread

As from tomorrow ,Boxing Day I am going to post my exchange bets placed on horses.
This will consist mainly of back/lay and lay/back bets.
The aim obviously is to make a profit but also for others to offer ideas and advice.
The thread will be updated with profit/loss with commission deducted.

    Had put this post on hold until I did a trial run
    and have got advice from Vaigret(thank you) re posting tables

    Looking for advice on a staking plan for exchanges
    I have placed 18 bets on betfair 
    only 1 lost (the 12th) but wiped out most of my profit

    Any ideas or suggestions please

    ps the 4 horses posted I have bet but will lay if price shortens

    Hi Joe

    Can i ask, If you are doing Back/Lay bets how are you losing money? Surely you are backing at a higher price than laying and at the very least getting your stake back?

    ill give you an example:

    I backed a BDO darts player at 42.0 for £36, now i dont neccesarily think he is going to win the whole tournament but did think he would win his next match. he won his match quite convincinly and was now 19.0, i put a lay for half my stake (£18) at 18.0 and it got matched within 24 hours. I then looked at what the bookies had him up at (12-1) so i put a lay in for the rest of the stake at 13.0 which again has been matched. I now have my initial stake back in my account and can win just over £600 if said players wins the tournament. I will lay him again if he wins his next match which means no matter what player wins i will be in profit. The only time i could have lost my stake is if he lost the first match he played (that was the gambling part) although i could have traded in play so that i got my stake back before the match had finished. Hence that is what you can do with horses.

    OMM a few weeks back I bet then layed at shorter odds 16 horses
    Horse 12 was fav and lost but my lay bet didnt get taken.
    I think I bet £40 on it so wiped out all my profit and more
    If horse is say 6/4 or 2.5. Betting £10 gives £14.25 profit if wins
    Lay £10.80 @ 2.3 gives 95% of 80p profit=76p
    I use a calculator on excel that works out the either the amount to lay or back
    This includes 5% commision and 3% for myself. so 8%  difference in prices
    Hope this makes sense.
