The pre flop action was to try and isolate the limper, didn't really want the bb to come along. When they both call my cbet and the 9 comes its nailed on one of them has hit the straight. My thoughts are maybe I should have folded the turn bet but I couldn't do the maths fast enough lol, (roughly 1/4 to call for 1/5 chance of hitting) but should you ever consider the chop pot outs?  (e.g. if I think he has the jack, I have 3 to hit to chop, on top of my 10 outs to win the hand).

If you're gonna bet that amount on the river you might as well just set them in. Or bet a lol small amount to try and induce.

All seems fine to me otherwise.

Just as a side-query - why do you want to isolate with 77 vs a limper at this stage of a tourni?  I get the value of starting to build the pot in case you hit, but...

...isn't it a good thing to get the pot going 3 way so that you have greater implied odds for the time that you do hit your set and are therefore more likely to get paid off?

I think the call on the turn is probably OK even though you don't have the immediate odds, as most people will pay you off if you house up / hit the 7 (as shown) so the implied odds are there (assuming you check/fold if you don't improve - and that you don't have enough info on the oppo to know they can fold obvious straights on paired boards... which I know is v.v.v. rare at these stakes!)

    Nice hand... well played :)

Yeah I know what you're saying about the value of playing it 3way, but it was quite a "limpy" table, people limping with any 2. So playing out of the sb I wanted at least some idea of where I was in the hand. Also given the wide ranges of the players I have the potential to rep a monster even if I miss completely.

    oh and ty ;)
