It is being broadcast on the news channels that there is a serious security flaw with Internet Explorer. Without boring you with the fine detail, it is a security flaw where bye Hackers from China are able to access your computer with a trojan and access your hard drive. This means that all transactions (including Sky, Google etc) are potentially at risk when accessed through IE. The advice is to use a different browser such as Firefox or Safari, Changing your passwords to financial institutions eg. Poker deposits, Internet banking etc. is advised once you are on a provider other than IE.
This is not a problem with Sky. The problem is Microsoft IE. My advice is to swap from IE now.
jeeezz--them floppin peeps!!---still, they got nearly half the people on the planet over there--- Its only fair they should have half the floppin cash as well----innit?
LOL on a lighter note ill stick with IE with a bit of luck they might spin my £5.46 up on sky if they hack into mine, and accidently put funds into my bank account!
I always try to keep my bank account right on the limit of my overdraught, just in case something like this happens, but when I told my bank manager this, he would'nt believe me--whats that all about eh?

No they don't want your Sky money. They access your hard drive and from that they can get into anything. Bank accounts, mortgage, credit cards etc etc. You are then a prime target for identity theft. Whatever you have available on credit cards they will take. Good luck when your credit card bill arrives next month.

My experience is that Sky Poker runs better on Firefox than IE anyway. More efficient and less delay in loading tables, cards etc.
Looks like it's just IE6 but don't quote me. IE8 should be ok from what I'm reading. Apparently the place that got hacked was Google. Why the blazes do they use IE and not Chrome??? Posted by TommyD
They mentioned IE8 by name earlier.
I don't think google use IE, it's their customers who use IE that are targeted.

Well lets be honest, Sky must be doing SOMETHING right because players who have problems getting tables to load are still coming back to play day after day.
Terrible with technology, thanx for the warning...I have firefox so I changed straight away.. Change my password as well??? Hope this doesnt crash on me again! grrrr DOHH Posted by DOHHHHHHH

ummm well if it is google thats been hacked, then dont use firefoxes default search, cos its google ! Posted by hogan2089
Attacks on Google etc are commonplace, a daily occurrence. What's different here is that they can get into your pc via IE. It's not just Google though that has been named. They also named Adobe.

Been there lol, actually I have contributed to them, but my point is those players STILL want to play here, they could easily go to another site but they don't, so they must like something about the site.

Cheers hun, I use Firefox but it's nice to know that you keep an eye on things like for us
Hackers are exploiting a security loophole in Internet Explorer to steal computer users' personal information when they visit certain websites.
Who is at risk?
Potentially everyone who uses Internet Explorer to look at look at pages on the web – which amounts to 75 per cent of people online. It's the standard browser that comes installed with Windows on most PCs, and Microsoft says that all recent versions of the software are vulnerable.
What sites are infected?
Experts believe 10,000 websites, most of them based in China, have been corrupted by the hackers and that figure is growing. Some are pornographic, but others such are trusted sites whose owners may not know they have been compromised. An online sports shop and a Taiwanese search engine are among the "legitimate" sites to have been infected.
What can I do?
It's always advisable to install up to date anti-virus software, and make sure the firewall - your computer's inbuilt electronic shield - is turned on. Microsoft says it will release a cure for the problem, known as a patch, when one is available.
Should I switch to a new browser?
Alternative browsers such as Firefox and Google Chrome can be downloaded for free, and many web users find them superior to Internet Explorer. Switching browsers would guarantee protection against this security problem, although no browser is immune to viruses.

I'm only passing on what was on the news. The German government thought it important enough to ''address the nation'' so I take it seriously. Gordon Brown might decide to do the same on Monday after his lunch.
