Looking to improve

Hi all,

Thought I would introduce myself - I'm 33, live in N Wales, and been playing poker on and off for a few years, started in pub games mainly with some online tourneys and the odd punt in the casino. currently I'm a small winner at low/micro stakes but plenty of room to improve! Been v v lucky in the past year with a couple of binks in casino comps so got a decent roll for 20nl. 

Have a full time job, wife and kids so no ambition of going pro any time soon, but this year I want to take a more serious shot at a small regular profit, will be starting out at the 20nl tables and moving up if all goes well, moving down if it doesn't! 

Been reading the forums and some great diaries on here especially Lambert's, was great to see someone improving and moving up to make a living from the game, even with all the run bad! 

I won't be starting my own diary, as I think there are already plenty of people with some great micros diaries and mine won't add anything new, but will try to join in with discussion and live show threads, and post a few hands in the Poker Clinic to help me sort my game out.

    Hi and welcome all the best in your venture. Important that you don't lose a lot and are sensible, you sound sensible, so all that really matters is that you enjoy yourself.

    Thanks Gary good advice have been guilty of tilting off a few buyins in the past but all behind me now.......probably lol

    Am well rolled so shouldn't go busto as long as I stick to the bankroll management

    Cheers - if I remember you were cleaning up and sat with about 500bb so was glad you were to my right! Tables seem very aggressive for 20nl lots of 3 barreling air to pile the pressure on, but maybe I'm out of touch now. Ran fairly well last night, which made up for a bad first week back at the tables, grand total of 50p profit!

    Welcome to the  forum mate and all the best in your venture,you wont see me at the cash tables as i mostly an MTT player but all the best and gl at the tables....

    Cheers mate - on the buses was a bit before my time but watched the films as we used to own an on the buses fruity in our flat at uni. It's a case of so bad it's brilliant - the first one is basically centred around a 50 year old man living with his mum trying to get overtime at work to pay off a washing machine - and it was no1 at the box office I think - the 70's were a pretty weird time lol
