My initial thought was snap call...felt like a pair with up and down straight.. like a 56 or even A6..

Then I thought he'd got there with a backdoor flush.

is this a call on the end?

Do you have any notes on the oppo?

I'm probably over-cautious vs limpers, but assume that if they open up post-flop it's indicative that they have a hand... the whole reason for limping is to try and hit without committing too much to the pot...

Which would lean me to a fold...

Against a more aggro pre-flop player I'd try to find a call, as it can very much look like you've two-barrelled and given up, which you'd likely do with lots of over card combos, so 77 will be a good bluff catch.

56 has (some) SD value.... and indeed most of his range has SD value so you're pretty much hoping he's turning lots of his SD hands into a bluff here to be good. As shakin said, given villain limped pre I wouldn't suspect them capable of such a play.
