Came across this article and thought it'd be interesting to post for those that haven't seen it.

In short, it discusses how old school and new school players resent each other and how it's not good for the game - and ways to go forward to try and change that! I'll post some thoughts in a bit, about to head out now tho so just thought I'd post it before I forget!

Very interesting, there seems to be a "one or the other" dynamic going on (surely some players out there must be inbetween)... I think the two balance each other out more than you would think, while all the young internet kids may not be fun to watch or good value at the table, this only means that the older more extrovert players will still get their sponsorship deals and camera time which maybe their skill doesnt warrant anymore and which they wouldnt be getting if the younger guys had a bit more about them at the table..
I dont believe that seeing the internet kids persona will put people off playing poker as im sure most people start playing online these days and then if they enjoy it they will venture in to live games if they wish... I think its all about looking after the pure recreational online players, who genuinely play for fun, i dont really think many people would play live and class themselves as only playing for fun as no one wants to sit opposite a guy whos taking your money whether he is old school or new school.
