How to play these hands

edited February 2015 in The Poker Clinic

if anyone has any advice for me so I can improve my game I would be thankful.

Its early stages of the Ofordable D/Stack and not much reads on opponents. I find it quite hard to play these big pairs at this stage so any advice is good advice.

Hopefully rivermunky posts his side of the hand so I can actually see what he had :) I was thinking trips but he said he had slightly better which would suggest he straight.

The 3 bet pre should be bigget, just giving great odds for any two to call like suited connectors etc. I think if calling his reraise on turn then I would be inclined to go with it, are you folding to a J turn if they jam? If so could fold on turn.

Honestly other than the bet size pre looks like played  pretty standard

But someone with much more knowledge than me will help more :)

Thanks for the reply Nuggy. I was very tempted (cursor over the button) to call him all in with what I already had in the pot but then bottled it and thought to myself ill live to fight again. managed to pull back and final table it but its these hands I look back over and find myself loosing a lot of my stack early on. when and what to raise to with these is the biggest problem of my game atm.

Might check back turn. As played folding turn when he raises

I just cant think of  asingle good reason to click it back pre here.  Even if we have merged our click backs to all our equity hands we can and should be going for more.

If we havent merged our click back range then the click back is bad.  Completely polarises our range and only gets the min into the pot.

3 betting, especially when you are so deep go bigger - 360. Try and avoid min clicking it back at any point.

Bet more on the flop/ less on the turn.

When he raises turn, prob a fold.
