The clocks went forward yesterday, Spring is here, & Summer is coming.
For a UK & ROI facing poker site, that means, inevitably, traffic reduces, as people take advantage of lighter evenings, warmer weather (T & C's apply), school holidays, summer vacations, & for some lucky peeps, the WSOP in Vegas.
It affects all poker formats similarly, but the headlines are always dominated by reduced Tournament Guarantees which, not unreasonably, players don't much like.
So expect some of the Guarantees to be reduced as & when necessary. They won't all be announced, they just happen, as & when. Hopefully, changes to Main Event Guarantees will be communicated.
Traffic peaks around Christmas & January, & troughs in June, July & August.
Once September comes around, it slowly increases, accelerating when the clocks go back.
Traffic last week was very strong indeed, but that was the last week before the clocks went forward.
I'm sure there will still be some chunters & grumbles, but I thought it worth reminding everyone.
SB&G generally don't suffer quite so much. SkyBet see reduced football betting, obviously, but the Grand National, Epsom Derby, Royal Ascot, the 4 Golf Majors, Wimbledon Tennis & so many others events take up the slack.
All good then. Mostly.
