    Hi Mick,

It seems unlikely - today's UKOPS Satellites are in the Lobby, & it is not listed as far as I can see.

I assume you solved the "collecting the Missus" problem. How did that go - doghouse?

Thanks for the reply Tony even though its a little disappointing.
There were Sats for the last UKOPS Omaha event.
    Are you playing in it?
The good wife finishes at 4pm today so would have been able to play.

Yes, it is a bit of a shame.

Fingers crossed, yes, I'll be donating.

I'll play a one off £5 sng with you later this afternoon Vespa as a sattellite if you like. Should be able to get at least four other people to play. People could always post here if they wanted to play a £2 one or something, should be easy enough to get something going.

So that really worked what was it £600 overlay so thats just under a 3rd of the prize money sky had too top up.........also noticed the majority of hi/lo players on site did not play and probably 5/15 of those that did play was because of the overlay!

So would hi/lo have done as well/bad?

Should there maybe have been 1 omaha event at £1000 £11 buyin and 1 hi/lo event at £11 buyin?

Why have nearly 70% of ukops events bounty hunters..do we not have enough of these on site day in day out! as is proved by the changes made for this weekend/ukops underneath...

I don't know the precise numbers mate, but I reckon PLO8 has more regular players on Sky than PLO.

If it had been PLO8, then I would definitely played, as it was, I enjoyed myself in the Orfy instead.

If only 5 PLO8 regs played, then that leaves a lot of players that did not.  I reckon PLO8 would have attracted more than 15 though.

    Hi Brian,

There are a lot of BH's in UKOPS because that's what people want to play - the figures prove that.

The PLO would have covered the £2k Guarantee if they had halved the Buy In (i.e., made it £11 not £22), & made it 1 x Rebuy & 1 x Add-on. PLO players don't like Freezeouts becaue of the very nature of how PLO plays.

    All imo, of course.

lol not sure what happened too that post had everything all in order and it appears that way when i post it..sigh

From what i seen there was not many hi/lo players that entered mostly was just players who play cash omaha or people who thought the overlayt was worth a shot!

hope what i was getting at has come across the way i meant... it is not all about hi/lo..and others may not agree with this but ukops just seems rushed with little or  no thought put into it other than competing against other sites and they're events that are running just now

Possibly, yes, but whether it was PLO or PLO8, it needed to be 1 x Rebuy & 1 x Add-On. It would then cover the £2k Guarantee if it were PLO or PLO8, imo.

Anyway, it's history now, I doubt we'll see PLO or PLO8 in UKOPS again after yesterday's shortfall.

I understand what u are saying tikay but it is easy too see 36 bounty hunters are removed that obviously meet the gtds every/day/week and are replaced by ukops events!

yes people like b/hunters but a bit of variety is what makes life interesting....
  • edited April 2015
P.S also the £1000 £3.30 b/hunter got less than its gtd yet a £5.75 £1500 b/hunter kicked off roughly same time and busted its gtd! deffo needed all these extra bounty hunters....sorry tikay we will never agree on this one.

I hear you Brian, but if "variety" is, say, a PLO jobbie that barely covers two thirds of it's Guarantee, that's not a lot of good to anyone.

Think it's a little unfair for you to say "little thought went into it". A great deal of thought went into it. You could argue it was "bad thought", but they definitely tried to make a successful Festival, (why would they not?) & I believe thay have.

Anyway, these are all just opinions, it's subjective.

Enjoy the rest of Easter, if you play it, UKOPS, & I hope to join battle with you back on the PLO8 or PLO tables soon.

Sorry tikay we won't agree on this one but too me and im sure others will say the same they have removed the most popular bounty hunters replaced them with ukops bounty hunters and will claim its is a sucsess!

If i had the time and energy i would look through these cancelled(bounty hunter) games and check numbers against ukops numbers for the substituted events and yes they will get the gtds but is that because of the games or is it because they cancelled the regular games that regulars play too fill the ukops events?

Put it this way they have rmoved £73.600 worth of gtd bounty hunters......where will this go?thats nearly half the ukops events payed for!

    Thank you Tony.
It was great fun, I had to be patient for a long time and yes, I had a bit of luck along the way.
Someone once told me that PLO and PLO8 was a drawing game and you are never too far ahead or behind.
I used that as the tournament progressed and was very happy to come out on top.
I was helped heads up with a rivered Royal Flush  that totally put me in command and four or five hands later I took it down.
It would be a great shame if future UKOPS did not feature at least one PLO or PLO8 event as it does give something a little different to play, although I fully understand that the business does not want to lose money.
I notice that not all events have made the guarantees but that overall the festival has made more money than expected.
Maybe we might be lucky in the future and we can keep at least one four card game.
    Thanks again Tony

    VWP Nic,

Caught a little of the FT and saw your Royal v Jrdz 'nut' flush and I think it was 2 or 3 hands later you housed up in another big pot.

I would have flicked in the £22 for PLO8, but not PLO, that said had their been sats I would definitely have tried a few (arithmetic is not my strong point, but I think that may have encouraged more runners and potentially made up the shortfall)
