Just incase you didn't know who this legend is...

  • edited January 2010
Pretty sure he's well known for being addicted to casino house games like Craps too!

I remember Nick Wealthall talking on the other channel about how a Poker Organisation should start some sort of pension scheme to look after elderly and former players, and he added he first came up with the idea as he was worried about TJ.

He's a great player and gentleman but he's never held onto any money for long.  I checked out the other bracelet (it's from the Scotty Nugyen Poker Challenge?!?!?).  If you thought Scotty had bad taste in shirts, check that bling out baby!

TJ clearly got some money for them and hopefully there will always be folks like Sexton and Tomko to look after him and keep him in action (although they should put a tag on him to set of an alarm if he's within five yards of a dice).

Kind of feel sorry for him but he's obv one of the many that owned poker when it was easy and has now fizzled out.

this is nothing to do with him not being able to beat the game these days, trust me he can do that

saw him win rather a lot when in vegas last year and blow it all and 4 times more on the craps  table

trust me he can still play

This is the sad demise of a legend.

    MMM, Ms Chips!

I'm afraid Mr TJ is not the first, nor will he be the last, WSOP Bangle Winner to go seriously Busto. I know three, personally.

Half of the "faces" are busto, at a rough guess.

That really puts things into perspective and a serious warning to all. Sounds like it isn't always sunrays and saturdays as a poker professional.

    Very sad

At least we still have you Mr. K

They should make the bracelets like the oscars, in respect that they dont belong to the actors they belong to the motion pictures guild and not the winner - they are only the winners on permanent loan so to speak, and are like sporting trophies and never actually belong to you, that way they could not be sold, if the WSOP did this

$9.7M now that is impressive! Maybe even more impressive to able to blow that sort of cash on house games!
  • edited January 2010
     2009  8k profit

    2008  78k profit

seems this is where he didn't make enough to sustain his house game habit !

Unfortunately Rover, Online Databases of Live "Winnings" are constructed in a very peculiar way.

They take NO account of "losses" - they are simply a total of the Cashes the player has. So, a Player could spend $1,000,000 in Entry Fees in a year, earn gross cashes of $20,000, & his Online Database would say he had "won" $20,000, which is obviously a nonsense, as in fact, he'd have lost $980,000. But that's how they do it. The Databases also only record Live Tournament Cashes, & do not include Live (B & M) Cash-Game wins or losses.

TJ has barely played Live Tournament Poker in the last few years. It's a widely held view, & one to which I subscruibe, that he remains an outstanding player, but I'm afraid his "leaks" have been the undoing of him, as with so many other fine poker players.
