Community Roller?

edited April 2015 in Poker Chat

Some familiar names cashed in last night's Roller, well done all.

Karma time for MAXALLY, who has been doing the Results Thread in Gary's absence, must have been most enjoyable for Alan to post that result.

Tennis Bloke cashed too, as did Geld-Mode13, CSCS (is that the player who won "Best UKOPS"?), Wacko, jawz, Senor Beggsy, & Extraman.

Very special congrats also - because we are really good friends - to Natterley Bromley, who proved yet again she is far & away the best player in the Bromley household.

    Cheers Tikay :)

Nat was on my table last night, she played very well and didn't mention Blackburn once in the chat box .

Congrats to all the other cashers too.

If I may ask, what have you done to improve your game so much, Alan?

You won the Roller back end of  February, then had a 10th in it, & now a 2nd.

Late last year I'm pretty sure you took down a big Turbo Open, too.

I might be wrong, but I have it in my mind that you spent many (happy) years just messing about in smaller stuff without making too many waves, & now you are a big winner.

Have you had coaching, worked on your game, or has it just happened? I doubt it's the latter, poker, like life, is not like that.

Anyway, I'm very pleased for you.

Time you binked a VLV package, maybe?

cheers teeks - very happy with that - and the community railing and chatting that went with it
(although i would have swapped it for a deeper run in the vegas semi where i finished 7th with only 4 seats on offer - but happy that tommyd took one)

oh and did you spot the second world war re-enactment, and they were on the same table for some time - there was only one way that was going to end.

They were moderately successful against unescorted bombers through 1943, with a considerable number of kills against USAAF day bomber formations being achieved. However, the Me 410 Hornet was no match in a dogfight with the lighter Allied single-engine fighters such as the North American P-51 Mustang and Supermarine Spitfire.

I havent had any coaching but amongst the factors which have seen my results improve are....

Watching the proven winning players on here more....trying to pick up a tip or two along the way (bet sizing, shoving stack sizes etc).
I am also currently reading the two Mental books of poker (which I won courtesy of Sky Poker), which are really helping my mind set when playing poker.
I also last year had a much needed clear out at home so I can relax more when playing online now in much improved surroundings.
The last factor is that my lad is now a teenager and he is into xbox plus going out playing footy with his mates....rather than spend time with me, so I can focus more nowadays.

....I don't read hand histories though...they make my eyes bleed!

Vegas?....that would be nice. Maybe I best up my game a little more and have a crack at some of them sats. There will be AIPF sats for packages yeah?

Excellent - much of it is improved focus then, really trying, instead of just lobbing along. It saddens me to see all those "it's fixed" threads, which, in most cases, are Posted by people who don't understand how poker works, cba to learn, & prefer to point fingers at others, rather than themselves.

Have to say, The Mental Game of Poker is something almost EVERY poker player should read, I've rarely met a soul who has not improved their game significantly after reading it.

Reading Hand Histories? Sadly, I'm the same, I just can't do it. I love everything about playing poker, there is no greater enthusiast than me, but reading hand histories, no thank you. I don't even know how to access Hand Histories on Sky Poker, & I have no intention of ever doing so. That's a step too far even for me.
I almost never read Hand Histories posted by others, either.

    Well done Alan!
I'm doing the same and watching well known names play to pick up tips
So now I don't feel so silly as I not heard of any one else do it !
I got bought Chris Moormans book as I really enjoyed the shows with him,
But like you say it is a lot of hand history's and I just can't get to grips with it !

Standard 'sign on to the forums and see I'm getting abused' post.

    In other news, water's wet!

Ps Maxy, well done. Again. There are fewer things I like more than seeing a long-standing grinder improve and cash so consistently at the levels you are x

i am pleased for you alan.  and very well done.

there might be a league table of most improved players at the end of the year.  if so, i am sure you would feature high on the list.

i wonder if i could produce a luckbox league and see if there is a correlation.

joking aside, well done.  it is good to see.

    ps  no positive tilting now.

TY Rob...very kind of you Sir. I admit I may of used a whole months luck box tokens up last night flipping when behind to keep me in the game.

If you do a luckbox league....I will be at least outside the top ten....being as your name will be in positions 1 - 10. ;)

No point producing a 'Luckbox League".

    One horse race.

    Very SHORT odds.

"This Blog was sponsored by Sky Bernie and ghost written by Tikay.

MBN to be winning big cash player playing with more money than sense.

Players with more sense and less money will always 'question' things.

Area51 is provided for this but the good debated articles are often lost in the avalance of nonsense threads."

Maxally, great result by the way! Given you now have more money after your roller success, does this mean you have less sense?

Congrats again Alan! Result after result after result recently.

When will normal "bubble boy" service be resumed? Or is it somebody else's turn for a while?
