 I know it was a bit loose to call with my set, but given the rainbow flop i felt it was ok , patently a very experienced campaigner had me just where she wanted me, should I have just folded?

Don't think you've read the hand correctly TTT. For Sam to be able to hold her age preflop, she'd need to be playing PLO.

i see this type of class play live quite a lot

it's generally used by those who "have a feeling" about their hand

which isn't fair on the rest of us that don't have that particular skill
