More Tales From The Casino

edited May 2015 in Poker Chat
Another thing happened last night that I'm sure a lot of you have seen/heard before.

I got three streets of value from someone I believed to be a fairly inexperienced player - lovely bloke, but certainly didn't have too much live experience.

Anyway, one of the other younger players at the tables pipes up and says loudly enough for the gentleman to hear:

'Total calling station. You certainly knew your customer.'

I gave him some serious evils and waited until the break to have a word. 'Was that such a smart move?' I asked him. I think a lot of players who aren't as clever as they believe they are tend to do this too often. Just keep it to yourself!

I used to hate it when people said stuff like this (don't rattle the fish-tank and all that) but now welcome it. They're showing their own inexperience.
I was sat by a guy who talked garbage all evening about 'dominating power hands', pointed out how a £20 bet would have been better than a £25 bet, and evangelised the merits of 'check-raising all-in on 5th street' etc. He'd obviously read a book or watched Jesse May on TV and became an overnight expert.
He walked home broke. His kind always do.

I love playing these kind of people live think they are the next phil ivey telling players how they should play and slating others plays.

I just sit quiet and listen to what they say because you use some the information to your advantage like how they play a certain hand throught the streets I would never got x amount on river with 1 pair hand etc and send the them out the mtt or cash table with zero.

But tbh I feel everyone should be polite and cheerful to all at the tables always a more enjoyable game regardless if winning or losing when the whole table gets on imo, but you always get the odd 1 or 2 think they are above the rest.

Biggest bluff you'll pull tonight, mate.

You're one of the loudest poker players I've met.

    Sweat profusely in the summer?

The loudest players at the table wouldn't come close to drowning out the noise emanating from Slip's shirts.

    Sigh.

You wear one bright shirt one time and suddenly that's the only thing people remember about you.
