A terrible way to go as well - peace out, sir.

A dreadful tragedy, in which his wife was also killed.

A man not afraid to plough his own furrow, and think different to the herd.

Never spoke, wrote or thought ill of others, either, an admirable but rare trait.

    RIP Mr Nash.

    "A beautiful mind".

    Incorrect.

It is in Poker Chat because, more than almost anyone I can think of, he articulated Game Theory & how it can be successfully applied to Poker. That is his claim to fame, & very considerable fame, in the world of poker.

His body of work is known as "Nash Equilibrium"

I would suspect that all knowledgeable poker players would respect Mr Nash's work.

He was awarded a Nobel Prize for his work.

An intellectual giant of a man, who suffered badly with mental illness in his later years.

He & his wife were killed in a car crash.

And even more knowledgable ones would recognise that von Neumann was the mathemetician who invented game theory and not Nash.

not aware that is in dispute.
however it was Nash who applied it to non-cooperative games with "poker as the obvious target" and why some poker players may be saddened to learn of his unfortunate death. hence poker chat.

In Response to Re: John Nash RIP : There are 2 very sad things on this thread 1 being the sad news about Mr and Mrs Nash R.I.P. 2 being the sad fact that you felt the need to post this remark

95% of his forum posts are always to do with a thread being in poker chat that he deems shouldn't be. Couldn't make up a worse troll.

RIP Nash... must get around to watching the film about him.
