Can't see anything wrong with this. I like the raise pre, i do it with small pairs too, Nice re-raise on the flop. The only thing i would question was the shove on the turn. You want to bet for value and give flush draws the wrong price but half on the turn and the rest on the river i would have liked more. As it turned out, the guy probably would have come back over the top of that bet and shoved you in anyway.

its hard to put him on 3 5 lol, im not sure why you shoved the turn? ones got 2.58 the other 4.00, im looking to get a turn bet called so id bet 2.40, the shoves ok if you know hes calling it.
  • edited January 2010
I shoved the turn because he was calling on any draw, gutshots etc and any kind of pair. Got needled in the chatbox a bit too :(

I'm raising with most PP unless im in the blinds in a limped pot. a) it loads for the pot for when I hit and b) i can outplay people if I have position.

i think the problem with shoving the turn is that a lot of the hands you want to get a call from run away. you might get a call with a flush draw from some people but a lot would fold. The only hands that are defo calling your shove bet are 44, 77, 58, 53 and 89 and at that point you're not doing well against any but the 44.
You want over pairs, 2 pair, f/d's and hands like 55 to come along for the wrong price, that's why i would have liked a pot bet on the turn.

The simple answer is no, you can't get away.
Try not to worry about the end result. Just ask yourself did i do everything right, win or lose. I found that when i started looking at poker from this point of view, the beats hurt a little less. I certainly think you did everything right this hand.

Yeah i've seen that, probably true on a paired board but i don't think so when there's 3 of a kind on the board.
    e.g  A8887

You should be able to get away from this with 67 if it starts going crazy.

    Of course! There are exceptions.
  • edited January 2010
I dont get away in either spot dude.

Just coolers. The turn shove in the first hand isnt that bad if you know your oppo like you did.

Just reload and go again, this sort of thing shouldnt bother you as imo you did nothing wrong and to fold either one of these in the long run is not profitable.

Only hand im practically losing to is QT right? But he could of had any K, KJ, or a club draw.

Again my flopped set which should be a juicy pot to win is outdrawn. Where's my paired boards!!

Played em all right, just some sick luck.

I apologise for the bad beat posts, I have won some big pots too today (down 2buyins total atm) but in all i've been the victim of the redraws or coolers a fair bit.
