UKPC,procedure,structure for Newbies

edited August 2015 in Sky Poker Live
I have qualified via satellite for this tournament.
I have been informed that I am booked in for Friday 21st August.
What is the procedure after that, not very clear what happens after day 1.
Structure is not very clear either, starting stack etc.
What happens after day 1.What is the next step?
How many days have I got to book a hotel for?
How many days do you play in the tournament?

    Hi Wynne,

    Congrats on qualifying.

Liam's reply answers most of your questions, but I'll put some meat on the bones.

    what happens after day 1?

If you survive, you return on Saturday for a 3pm start.

If you survive Day 2, you return on Sunday for a 1pm start.

What happens after day 1.What is the next step?

    See my previous reply.

How many days have I got to book a hotel for?

That's a judgement call you have to make. Considerably less than half the field will survive Day One, ditto day 2. Mathematically, you probably have a 10% chance of making the Final day's play. It also depends how far away you live, & whether you will drive, or take the train.

How many days do you play in the tournament?

That depends how well you do, but it runs for 3 days - in your case, Friday, Saturday, & Sunday.

If you are unsure about anything else, when you arrive (try & arrive early), & then come see Tighty or myself, & we'll try & assist. In fact, I believe some of the suits will be present, so you could ask them if you preferred. They'll all be sitting in the corner, supping tea & coffee, whilst I do all the work. Outrageous, really.

Thanks TK - didnt realise was a 3 day event - some reason thought boxed of and taken down in 2 :-)

I booked the hotel for friday night -  bust or chip up - going to make most of the experience.

In you opinion - IF one was to make day 3 - do you think that would be in the money? Obviously is impossible to know for sure.

Looking forward to seeing all there - even better now my mate Kamcio took down turbo last night so using his £££££ to buy in direct so one question from them is:

When doe direct buy in open? Can it be done online or venue only?

    Cheers

The plan - not guaranteed, but we'll try - is to try & play Day 2 UNTIL we reach the money, or very nearly so, then bag up & come back Sunday. Impossible to say for sure though, it just depends how many runners it gets. If we got, say, 500 runners, & (approx) 50 paid, it ought to be possible, but I must stress it's not guaranteed.

Direct Buy-Ins, both here & @ DTD? I'm as little unsure on that, I'll ask Upstairs & get back to you.
