What's the best way to approach the UKPC Tables for a newbie

edited August 2015 in Sky Poker Live
Ok here goes, Playing 6 months and only played live once still not a clue what i'm doing, can't play poker for toffee lol. What's the best way of approaching the UKPC tables. Is it best to say i've not played live before and be honest or to sit there and bluff it? Getting more nervous and excited at the same time. Wasn't nervous when played first ever live game though even though didn't know what to expect. Any help much appreciated!!!!

    Hi mate

    My advice is as follows:

1, Don't panic, we all have to start somewhere. The staff on the day will help you with anything and the dealers at DTD are really good and will help you along
2, If you can, try and get a game in at a local casino before the weekend. This will ease you a little
3, Play tight until you feel comfortable, some players feel like they should play every hand as they have bucket loads of chips. This game is a marathon not a sprint
4, If you are confused at any time, ask the dealer
5, Relax and be your self, you were good enough to qualify so you must have a bit about you
6, Meet me and buy me a beer lol
7, Set yourself goals, make the first goal to make it to day 2

    Hope that helps

    Dave

Thanks Dave. Lol Think we all meeting at the bar anyway. My first goal is not go out first which I doubt I Will. Next goal is reaching the first break and take it each and every break from there on in.
