What's the best way to approach the UKPC tables for a newbie??
Ok here goes, Playing 6 months and only played live once still not a clue what i'm doing, can't play poker for toffee lol. What's the best way of approaching the UKPC tables. Is it best to say i've not played live before and be honest or to sit there and bluff it? Getting more nervous and excited at the same time. Wasn't nervous when played first ever live game though even though didn't know what to expect. Any help much appreciated!!!!

Hope this helps.
A good way to prepare for a big tournament, is to play the £2.20 @2.20 deepstack.
Tne very best of luck.
All the best.

Oh and I am excellent at giving shoulder massages. Nothing else but shoulder massages before you lot start! lmao
Apologies Rain unfortunately I missed late reg to play in the deep stack but I will hopefully be playing tomorrow.
DA in all truth it didn't seem like you were playing your first live game in MK, so don't think you have as much to worry about as you feel you do. I know this is versus better players (probably less hungover than the table we shared in MK lol) and will inevitably be a more serious game than your first experience, but can't imagine it'll be that far removed in reality.
Just enjoy the experience and play your normal game (complete with never ending chat lol) in the knowledge that even if you bust out first, you got there for free and will have done better financially than those that bought in direct and bust out before the bubble with a £500+ loss!

Hi DA,
If I were your coach or mentor, I would suggest you quickly make it known you are new & nervous.
If a newbie sits at my table, I can spot the signs that they are new with 90% certainty BEFORE a hand is dealt.
When the first hand has been played, I'd know with 95% certainty, & after 3 hands, 100% certainty, even if they passed all three hands pre-flop.
Some bright spark wants to take advantage of that? Go ahead punk, make my day. Soon enough, when he does it, we'll find a hand, We won't need much, & we will just 4 bet him. Job done.
I'd probably advise watching tricks for the first 2 orbits, then get started.
Very important to be decisive in our actions. If we want to raise, make sure we articulate our intentions clearly. Catch the dealers eye first, then say "I am going to make it 1,700" or whatever.
Do NOT touch any chips which are in the middle, under any circumstances, that's the Dealers job.
Do NOT make change, that's the dealers job.
Do NOT act out of turn, you may get a penalty.
Post your blinds &/or antes promptly, & without being asked.
Easy-peasy. Enjoy.
Looking forward to it.
I'll be driving down from Lancaster on friday morning, what time does DTD open?
