Just a Heads up - Itsover4u Challenge Blog

edited August 2015 in Poker Chat

ABOUT ME

Ok so I need to do something fresh & Partly because I have seen so many rigged posts lately that I wanted to officially show that poker in no way shape or form is rigged.

For thos who know me and those who dont my name is Danny and I have been making money consistently from poker for the last 7 years (only the last year on SKY) and I am an avid Heads up fan.

To me Heads up poker is the purest form of poker we can play you are forced into marginal decisions consitently and I believe it improves players quicker than any other form of poker.

What I hope to achive?

In this blog I hope to get some great strategy discussion going and prove to rec players with time effort and reasonable volume you can see results pretty quickly. Hopefully there will be some great stories along the way.

THE PLAN

I will be using a highly aggressive strategy I will be depositing £52.50 (The rest is now in the bank for UKPC cash games) and I will be playing 10 buy in strategy at the £5.25 Heads up tables playing 2- 4 tables a a time.

At the £5.25 level I wll be expecting an roi between 10% - 15% If at any point I drop to £21 I will move down to the £2.10's until back at £52.50 to try again at the 5s

I will not move up to the £10.50 until I have made at least 20 buy ins.

This strategy is aggressive but I feel my chances of bankrupting my bankroll are less than 5% early and when I reach £200 will be less than 2% when we reach £500 there is zero chance of losing the entire roll (IMO)

If my banroll drops I will always move down to the level closest to giving me 10 buyins (I dont intend to have to drop)

When will I stop?

I have a figure in mind but will not be disclosing that for now.

Hopefully this will be fun and I will meet many of you at the tables along the way. I will post regular bankroll updates and interesting spots to see how others would approach certain plays.

May your cards be live and your pots be monsters

Danny

I could teach a generalised winning strategy to people with poker knowledge pretty quickly at low and mid stakes - with unkown opponents my strategy never changes untill I find better ways to adapt to there leaks - Really fun game you would enjoy it!!

ok lets finally get this show on the road!!

ok good start played between 3 & 4 tables at speed for 40 minutes all speed and turbo tooke the bank roll to £70.50 so no danger of having to drop down levels at the moment (this can change)

no real tough or interesting spots as of yet.

The one thing I have noticed is I had to make an adjustment of ranges quite dramatically from mid stakes sngs - Low stakes players are limping way to many (in some cases all hands including AA). This allows me to tighten up my opening raise range as I know on average I will be winning 50% or more of my hands out of position.

Will play hopefully a few more tonight with the view of playing high volume tomorrow (in between having new carpets fitted) all being well I will be close to moving to £10's Tuesday / midweek / tomorrow (if I run exceptional)

after breaking even for the last few weeks (playing half interested) there should be a nice steady line on my sharkscope in the following weeks / months.

I have set myself a target of getting my roi for HUSNGS back above 10% also I think it is currently around 8%.... If you sit with me say hi :D

Ok so im going to throw hypers into the mix also. It has been a format I have been dying to learn properly for a while and as I am dropping stakes for the sake of this challenge now just feels like the perfect time.

I have been doing some heavy strategy study and cant believe some of the stuff you can do to be profitable in these.... im actually excited to put it all in to practice. If I can eeeek out a 2 -5% roi over 4 tables which ay be tough to begin with then hypers would be way more profitable than 8 - 15% at speed.... we shall see.

So far so good anyway bankroll standing around £85 currently.

What is everyone elses experience with hypers?
