QUESTION FOR THE MORE SENIOR MEMBERS OF FORUM(NO OFFENCE MEANT)

edited November 2015 in Betting Chat
GOT A LEAFLET OF CHRISTMAS SUGGESTIONS WITH YESTERDAY'S RP.
ONE OF THEM IS A BOOK ABOUT JOHN GOLDSMITH-ANYONE REMEMBER THIS GUY ?
I DID NOT KNOW HE WAS A DECORATED WAR HERO(SECRET AGENT FOR BRITAIN)
ALL I REMEMBERED OF HIM WAS THAT HE WAS A VERY "SHREWD" TRAINER,WHO,TO PUT IT MILDLY,PULLED STROKES,AND BROUGHT OFF SOME PRETTY AMAZINNG BETTING COUPS ALONGSIDE A TOP LONDON BOOKMAKER.
FOR THOSE WHO KNOW THE AREA,I BELIEVE HE TRAINED SOMEWHERE WEST OF WANTAGE,NORTH OF LAMBOURNE,AROUND WHITE HORSE VALE.

    Hi Bazzer.

    The excellent author Jamie Reid, who wrote "Doped" - a truly great book about racehorse doping after the second world war- also wrote a book about John Goldsmith, & it's a tremendous read.

    It's available in the better bookshops, or on Amazon.

    Highly recommended.

    The Full title - and a mouth-watering title it is;

    "Blown – The Incredible Story of John Goldsmith, Gambler, Racehorse Trainer and Wartime Secret Agent"
