Sky Poker Forums is upgrading its look! Stay tuned for the big reveal!
UKOPS Day 2, a quick review.
It was Smith's day yesterday, with GSmith13 running riot. Heaven knows he is not miserable now.
Mr Smith satellited into the High Roller, then took it down in spectacular fashion. Heads up between him & Ry-Ry, on a flop of 6-6-5, Ryan was holding the triptastic 6-3, Smithy 9-9. Ship the rivered 2 outer 9, ZING. Sort it out, Sky.
Remarkably, Smithy had won the previous UKOPS HR, & the previous days UKOPS Main, & won or cashed in 4 or 5 other MTT's yesterday. Must be the biggest MTT winner on Sky Poker in 2015?
Ryan got 2nd, he has endured a torrid year one way & another, but £6k will ease the pain.
It was "nearly bearly" as he came up just shy in 4th for a pleasing £3k, Dusto cashed yet again, was good to see joesman Strike, & Pretty Boy lJAMESl completed the cashes.
There had been concern it would cover the g'tee, but it sailed over the line. By one.

The Main Event included another belated Xmas Pressie for Team MTT in the form of £5,300 of overlay. Meanwhile, Sam's Xmas Bonus is cancelled.
Stay or Go continued his remarkable 2015, & a few other faces cashed, including my name is style, lyonsbob & TheDart. Smithy cashed too. Obv.
King Duffer, I think I met him at a UKPC, nice young man from Ireland if I'm not mistaken.
In the Mini, another £790 of overlay was washed away down Leed's flooded streets, but no bad thing for the smaller-rolled regulars who play the Mini every night.
Divsdreams finalled, lolufold FT bubbled, & Batesy vaulted into the money just ahead of Boy Band HANSON & gadge69. Lovely to see stokefc cash, I know that will mean a lot to him.
FeelGroggy cashed despite problems with "freezing", as did the peculiarly named CURT360x27 (what that mean?), macapaca, nosebleeder Sam1986, & Melty.
Do I need to say GSmith13 cashed? OK, he cashed.
The day began at 2pm with a £1,000 BH.
Raggy & dangerdai made the money, & cenachav, who was struggling to play any UKOPS when the day started, pleasingly cashed in this, the first of his brace of Day Two cashes. Turned out nice.
Think "coco" featured on the Community last week, too.
The mid-afternoon affair - a really good time for it imo - was a £2k BH, & it was something of a benefit for the big boys, cashees included bearlyther, Wacko90, devil_tear, cpfc_2010, & once again, FeelGroggy.
6pm was a £3k BH.
chiggypig, who was deep in Phantom's HUFA thing last I looked, won this, with Omm & PLO8 specialist suzy666 cashing.
Even by his standards, this has to be a heater.
I watched the Final Table of the HR, & from what I could see, he played fine, putting non-stop pressure on all the others, but he ran pretty good too, with Quad queens, & that remarkable last gasp 2 outer to win the thing.
Take a bow? Just a bit. Remarkable stuff.
Fingers crossed he'll be at UKPC, & we can meet, & have a nice natter.
The £1,000 PLO, with an £11 entry tag, missed the Guarantee by 2 players, so not a disaster. However, the 4 card boys keep complaining of lack of Omaha action in UKOPS, & in regular MTT's, but sadly, the demand does not seem to be there.
Benjamin Nuttall Esq won it, as he repeatedly reminded me last night whilst we were railing the HR. I'm told he was extremely lucky. Don't doubt that at all.
cenachav, desperate to get in via Satellites, completed a mini-fairytale day with his 2nd cash.
kidgrimsby is Dave Norsden, hubbie of Sue Norsden who did so well in Sky Poker's first ever Viva Las Vegas. In fact, Sue might just be the "biggest" ever VLV cashee.
The better of the 2 Bromleys scraped into the money, as did Percy Plump.
The £5k G'Tee BH @ 9pm was the day's star turn from the numbers pov, beating the G'tee by 50%, the thirst for BG's here is amazing, despite the oft repeated "too many BH's" from Team Chunter.
Big hitter al873kill took it down, & general cheerful guy Zipppy146 was 9th.
smoki13 made the money, & yet another UKOPS cash for DustoLucko, closely followed by his mate phuse.
Remarkably, Percy Plump cashed again.
Day Two concluded with a £55 BH, & no surprise here, it met - thoigh only just - the hefty £6,000 Guarantee.
That man Smithy was there again, 2nd this time, he must have made 5 or 6 Finals yesterday, everything from £2 Rebuys to the UKOPS High Roller.
Serial cashers James Rann aka RUNITSRANN & StayorGo both cashed, as did mattprawn.
So that was Day Two, but I must just include a shout out to Sam, & all the Sky Poker & SB&G Staff up at Leeds.
They really did have a challenging day with the floods, & access to the Office was only possible via dinghy, truly, & the whole of Leeds was in shutdown mode.
It was a seriously busy day, right across the Business, & yet the service Level was 100%, & there were no glitches or issues. I had to send a few e-Mails up, just little player questions, & they replied to them all instantly. Proper professional job, that.
WP them.
It appears the thirst for Bounty Hunters is no longer unique to Sky Poker. Although I haven't played there in a long time personally, as a result of my Twitch viewing I can't help noticing they are rapidly gaining popularity on the world busiest online poker room too. Usually slight variations of Sky's bounty format, rebranded as "Progressive Knockout" tournaments.
The same online poker room also appears to be about to head down the "no HUD route". These guys must have been watching Sky Poker and liked what they've seen.
Correct & correct. Tilt introduced a carbon copy of them recently, too, under some fancy dan name.
As to third party software, it's been a remarkable year, & just about every site has now introduced measures to deal with the issue. Not going to debate the pros & cons right now, it's Xmas, though I do have strong views on the matter. I have discussed & pontificated this at length, most months, in my Bluff Europe column. Unforch it rarely gets Uploaded online these days, but it is in the monthly print copies.
An opportune time to remind everyone that they can access the daily results, (rather than read all my waffle) including ALL UKOPS Results, in Gary's Daily Results Thread, HERE
In due course, when it suits his Diary, Sky Poker will give a tangible "thank you" to Gary.
HNY Gary, to you & yours, & thank you for all your Community work here. Without folks like you, this Community would not survive. It's designed to enhance players enjoyment, not as a stick to beat Sky Poker with. Not everyone seems to get that.
