I would have probably shoved flop given starting stack, board texture (don't want to give any odds to straight or flush draws) - but the guy had close to twice your chips and could have been a laggy player before that.

You played your hand right, got it in as favourite (especially as he had 2 black cards and you 3 bet pre with AK and a K flopped, not a 9 3 2 board...). You will double up more often than not here so you made the right play, just maybe shove earlier given stack and pot sizes.

I like it RLT, Top pair A kicker! with 13BB

I would make a note on villian.(T)  Calls a 3xbb rse  OOP with 98s, Calls PSB cbet on K86 flop (w/o flush draw) .

You  want him to make these moves against you again and again.

Im assuming tournie ? or Is it a DYM ?

*EDIT, when I say I like it, I dont mean I like you losing...

RLT think you played it fine

Raise size could be a little smaller

Also open shove isnt that bad either: )

looks like you have  around 13bb before hand?

if so either minopen or open shove

    bet flop smaller imo

    you go broke anyway

Just accept that sometimes, no matter what you do, you are going to lose. Just keep getting it in good, & over time, you'll be fine.

yes played fine but not optimal no point 3x it at this stage min raise fine goes in the same but 3x just makes the pot bigger i prop rip it in pre jam 13 bigs makes it easier to play. Just a ul runout. Also flop bet no need to pot it 2/3 or smaller does same job could also  jam.

I had similar last night where I turned a straight (with straight and flush draw); had to bet to keep opponent baited, had to be aware an Ace could come river (I was sure he had Ace x)... Ace came river - I min bet got min raised and called - he had full house. 5/10% chance depending on cards folded, but I made right play, got wrong result.

It is what it is. Over 10,000 hands, if you make the right choice you will gain money, even if 100 (or 500) hands seem to sc rewyou over.

Agree with what Chris said about the bet sizes, apart from that this hand is good for us long term. That's all that matters, if our opponents make mistakes its a good thing. The thing that makes poker fun is players can win even when playing sub optimally. Brush off the times they win as long term we know they wont.

I would stick to 2-2.1x pre. 317 is good :)

Or if your not comfortable playing post-flop, just shove your entire range here pre.

Betting flop alot smaller, pot bet means were never bluffing here really, and we want our bluffs to fail or suceed for alot less risk. I would go for something like 45-55% pot.

Turn you have to shove now.
