UKOPS XV Day 5 Review

edited December 2015 in Poker Chat

UKOPS XV concluded last night, & with 7 of the 8 Day 5 events beating Guarantee (only the £3er failed), it was goodbye overlay value, help bigger prize pools.

The Main was a £20,000 Guaranteed BH, & it was a fun final table which I enjoyed railing.

Pride of place goes to a mate of mine, Dewi-cool, a Welsh lad who I last saw finishing 9th for £15,000+ in the August UKPC. He finished 3rd in the Super Roller a few weeks back, too.

In 3rd was Tsaaaar, aka Nick, a confectionery maker from Glasgow. Sweet.

lovejunky deserves mention in 4th, she is a young lady who supports - wait for it - Norwich City. How can you explain these things?

Bristol's POKEY2011 managed 18th without taking a single head prize.

Meanwhile, in 19th spot, was Itsover4u, who, rumour has it, binked $12,000 on The Big Site a few days ago. He really should have mentioned it.

Apologies for the dire formatting, the forum software has a mind of it's own. It's obv not my fault, no no.

The Mini attracted a whopping field in excess of 800, so I dare not even attempt C & P-ing the results.

winner5603 cashed for £131, and our mate stokefc had another UKOPS cash.

DustoLucko & GSmith13 were there again - how many is that between them, now? - & railers favourite IrishRose added another UKOPS cash to her collection.

Tsaaaar added a mini cash to his Main event Final, just ahead of smoki13 & MattBates.

Adam Bromley cashed again - still no Natterley though - which reminds me, I owe him to pairs of knickers he loaned me in Punta Cana. Truly.

The day started with a £5 deepie, with serial cashers bearlyther & AKallin14 adding to their UKOPS XV haul.

BenSherman & old DOYLEBRUNS had good runs, as did Eddie2, normally seen displaying his loose aggro skiils in PLO8.

Another UKOPS cash for YNWA107525 - his game is improving - & tomo_efc.

Good to see TENTENTEN pick up a few bob - there's a man who subscribes to "if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything".

In the mid-afternoon BH, the unspawney tourney run of fi33er continued, lightning struck again when MAXALLY cashed, & mention must go to cereal casher Kelloggs.

The 6pm Rebuy was dominated by the serious guys, headed by jordz16, who was on a mission to bank his Points for Prio before tonight's deadline, & SenorBegs was in the mix.

High quality field for this one, all the top players seemed to be in it.

    7pm saw the £1k Freezeout.

GMith13 cashed yet again, & more surprisingly, so did MAXALLY.

POKEY2011 & TENTENTEN enjoyed their 2nd UKOPS cash of the day.

Perhaps the most surprising cashee was old eon1961, the 81 year old PLO8 DYM specialist. He is often called "The Gasman". In fact, he is often called a lot of things.

    Well done all nice read

    The 9pm £5k BH made a very satisfactory £6,300.

The irrepressible Solack fell one spot shy of winning it, & Itsover4u - did I mention he chopped the Big £55 a few days ago? - was right behind him in 3rd.

IH8PALACE, smoki13 were in the mix, & IanSimpson secured his first cash of UKOPSXV.

The super polite & friendly smartca627 - always wishes everyone "good luck" - won a few bob.

    ...and finally.

UKOPS XV - & UKOPS 2015 - drew to a close with a £55 £5k Speed BH, contested by the usual suspects.

POKEY2011 & Lightwood both finalled, wp them.

mkgunner, inspired by the demolition of little Bournemouth - final table bubbled, with AKallin14 on his tail, & the honour of last mention goes to jordz16

Ha, no, I was just sitting there quietly, as I wanted to watch Dewi, who is a long-stranding friend from the world of real life.

We have been pals for 10 years or more, & some 5 years ago, he became very ill. He's fine now though.

He lives near this magnificent concrete edifice, a "stored energy reservoir" in Wales.

Very clever affair, that. Water is pumped to the top when electricity demand is low, & released, to provide additional power, when demand is high.
