Well done on the half , prob best to keep even pace tho- but I guess you know that ;-)
BTW 50 is the new 40!
Anyhoo, I remember you posting about stopping the results thread (for, I'm guessing something like running Route 66) but can't rem when.Was wondering when it was?

Thanks, and congrats to you for a very deep ME run last night. Gradually speeding-up FTW, my 5K splits were 25-02, 24-50, 24-33, 23-53. Even faster still over the final 1.1K (total race distance 21.1K).
I'll be retiring from this thread after posting the results for September 17th. It's not quite for that reason, though funnily enough 66 does come into it. I'll explain why here next week.

TY, tho I wish it'd been a BH.
66? been trying to think of races/challenges with 66 in them. Without googling I can only think of ..
1. NOTHING! I'm guessing it's one of your own?
Just wanna say, you'll be missed on the "results" thread. I do hope a suitable replacement has been in training
As previously announced when today's results are in I'm retiring from updating this thread, 2,023 days after I launched it.
I still love playing poker, I'll still be a regular day-time MTT player here on Sky, and an active member of this forum. I've enjoyed providing this service, and many forum members and Sky Poker have been very appreciative of my efforts over the years. However there are two main reasons why I've decided to stop maintaining this thread;
1. I'm finding it increasingly difficult to find time to post the updates consistantly day-after-day (see below).
2. The wealth of information posted daily, including results, on Aussie09's excellent www.pokersuperhero.com website has made this thread somewhat obsolete in my opinion.
Why now? Today just happens to be my 50th Birthday. I'm going to be away from home (and the internet) several days this coming week, and many more days over subsequent weeks. Hence now is as a good time as any to go.
The main reason I've had less of my spare time available to post on internet forums recently is because of a challenge I set myself almost a year ago to celebrate turning 50 (born in '66 Glenelg). I've signed-up for a series of 3 running events in 3 countries over a 5 week period with the aim of raising £3,000 for MacMillan Cancer Support. So I've been doing a lot of running lately, and spending a lot less time online.
The races I'll be running in are the Cardiff Half Marathon on October 2nd, Exeter's Great West Run on October 16th, and the big one; The New York City Marathon on November 2nd.
I know many of you are already supporting some very worthy good causes. But if you wish to thank me for my efforts here making a small donation to MacMillan if you can afford it would be amy prefered way of doing so.
You can read more about my challenge and make donations on my Just Giving page;
A big thank-you to Maxally and GregHogg who filled-in for me here occasionally, and to all of you who have made kind comments about this thread over the years.

Great work Gary, this was always one of the first threads to read on the forum to keep track of who won the previous days events, consistency and dedication second to none.
Well done Gary and good luck to all of your challenges as I'm sure after the next trio you will keep yourself going with something else.
well done on everything you've done for the forum. without doubt gary, you have been awesome. good luck with your future stuff. cuckfield primary school ftw. Posted by aussie09
Thanks for your kind comments guys.
Funnily enough I'm going back to Mid-Sussex for the first time in ages later this week. I'll definitely go back to take a look at the old Cuckfield Primary School, that lovely sandstone building next to the chuch. Not the modern one, which is where the youth club used to be in my teenage years. Happy memories.
Thanks Gary, this thread is simply awesome and to keep it going for 2000+ days is just incredible and real sacrifice to this poker community that not many would make. Hats off to you!

Truly, the end of an era.
Big thank you for all your efforts Gary. Reliable, punctual & accurate, always.
A whole lot of water has flown under the bridge in 5.5 years.
Happy 50th birthday, too. My oh my, I'd love to be 50.
Good luck with the running & walking.
