Can one get away with bluffing in Omaha?
For me the jury is still out on whether omaha is a game for bluffing illustrated by the examples below.
In the first example I am representing hitting quad 9's on the river and in the second example I am representing the nut flush. Unfortunately my opponent had it in the 2nd example and was never going to lay it down, but should the villain really be calling in the 1st example?
Can one get away with bluffing in omaha???

Comments
I'm a bit puzzled by these -are they SNG's or an MTT?
PLO8 or PLO? I'm assuming PLO8 by the starting hand in hand #2.
It's fine to bluff in PLO & PLO8, but it very much depends on board texture & is opponent specific.
Bluffing in PLO8 requires very particular board texture, preferably a high only flop. It's fraught with danger on flops & boards which are all low.
In hand #1 we were being a touch optimistic with 10-10-6-5, & though you were not to know it, he's never folding Aces pre. When the board includes 9-9-9, anyone with Aces is going to get it in, people don't fold Aces full, if they run into quads, so be it. He probably had you on Aces too.
In hand #2, (PLO8, surely?) not a bad flop to try to bluff, but there comes a time when we need to realise he must have it.
Don't think we can question bluffing when in both examples you walked into nuts or effective nuts.
It's Omaha, too, so as a general rule, let's see a flop & re-assess before we get too trigger happy. You are going to walk into Aces or Kings a LOT in Omaha.
