right first of all this guy had just joined the table so wasnt too sure of his play up to now. once he bet the flop, i thought i would put a little raise in just to see where my jack stood. once he flat called this raise i put him on a rag ace or possibly a DIAMOND flush draw. once i hit my two pair on the turn i obviously wasnt worried if he had hit the ace because i was fairly confident i was ahead but put a hefty pot-size bet just in case he was hoping to hit his diamond flush. of course as u can see the rest is history and was absolutely amazed to see wot he was holding. iv never come across this player before, has anybody else?? the only two hands i was sure to be worried about i thought was qk or pocket aces.

would anyone else have played this differently??

Speculative call on the turn but he has the Straight and flush draw giving him a lot of outs, no pre flop raise by you so probable that he's not putting you on the ace meaning he's defining your hand to probably the jack. To call him a donk is unfair, he may call on the turn with the intention of taking it away on the river. As it happens you do the work for him and lump it in on a board that has now got a possible straight, a possible flush, 2 rags to combine with the ace (as you put him on a raggy ace he didn't want to raise then A 2 & A 3 are possibly in his range to give him better 2 pair). If i was going to play it differently then i'd poss raise pre-flop to be able to represent the flop as i'm out of position.

i have edited out the name of the player.

please refrain from naming other players, especially when proceeding to call them 'donks' or such like.

    thank you!

I think you would be better severed asking how could have avoided this loss rather than trying to shame the other player then people would be apt to share advice, then you would have gained something from the situation as it is you lost face and the hand, maybe next time you will look at it from more than your own view point.

will enjoy getting the chance to play against you! and im amazed that everybody thinks playing to hit runner, runner spades or gut shot straights on the river is sensible play then so be it but pretty sure thats not how the best poker players out there see it!

still probably was a bit hasty in naming this player and apologise if i seem to have offended anybody

As already explained - was probably floating the flop and picked up a big draw on turn.  You, my friend, are a tadger.  Stop crying and get over it!

Angry when provoked? Suffice to say when it receives stimulation the blood can rush to its head

here here - there's to much of that on here and i,m not saying Ricky is one but i tend to switch my chatbox off a lot now as there are some really bad losers on this site. Everone gets bad beats or gets beat by players chasing daft hands, but thats up to the individual themselves . Its there money at the end of the day and everyone can play how they like. Thats the joy of poker.
