First up, if you are NOT a Member of DTD, & rock up at 11.45 on Saturday to play, you are likely to miss the start, as queues for new DTD registrants are likely to be lengthy.

You can speed this process up by registering in advance, here....

    http://www.dusktilldawncasinonottingham.com/join.php

We would not normally permit a link to another operator, but you are going to have to join anyway, so it makes no odds
    .

Please also note, even if you register online before you attend, you will still need to bring Photo ID on your first visit.

If you are a new Member, & fail to bring Photo ID, you will not be permitted to enter the Venue.

Sorry, but those are the GC Rules, & there can be no exceptions.

What time does Main Event play finish each day?

    Days 1a, 1b & 1c

Play starts at noon, they expect to play 15 x 40 minute levels, with a 20 minute break every 3 levels, & a 1 hour dinner break at some point.

I'd expect play to conclude at around midnight.

    Day 2

Play starts at Noon, & they will be playing 50 minute levels. They will attempt to get the field down to a Final, to avoid players (except Finalists) returning on the Monday, so this could be a late finish. It may not be possible to play to a Final on Sunday, but that's the plan.

    Final Day, Monday

Play is due to start at Noon. There may be a short delay before the Final commences, so as to allow time for interviews & photographs.  Play will continue until we have our new UKPC champion.

What do you need to do when you arrive?

You SHOULD be pre-registered, & your name should appear on the Table Draw approx. 5 minute before play commences, so you don't need to do anything.

However, Tighty & myself will be on the Welcome Desk just inside the front doors, & it would really help if you let us know you have arrived, so we can tick you off the master list. If you have any questions, we will try & answer them, too.

    Sky Poker MTT Feedback

Sky-Sam will be present on Friday evening & all day Saturday.

He is currently in the process of refreshing the existing MTT Schedule, especially the evenings bigger events.

So if you have any feedback or views on what you would like to see changed in the current MTT Schedule, please go speak to Sam. He does want your feedback.

During the UKPC, it is expected that Sky Poker will announce (REDACTED)
  • edited February 2016

From Friday onwards, there will be plenty of Suits from Sky Poker present, in addition to some Serious Suits from Sky Poker, & some Really Serious Suits from SB&G.

They are always interested in feedback, so please feel free to chat with them.

As for me, I'm a serious Non-Suit, but I know many of you from previous UKPC's, or are "virtual" mates online. I'm good with faces, but I forget names, so please do come & say hi & introduce yourself.

  • edited February 2016

Tighty & I will be pretty busy throughout, but if you have any questions, come see us any time.

Sam also looks forward to chatting with you - he will be mostly at the bar. Sam effectively looks after running the day to day stuff at Sky Poker, including all Tournament & Satellite schedules, & "Road Trips" (UKPC, Punta Cana etc).

Elizabeth & JP (Priority Execs) will be down from Thursday or Friday until Saturday, so if the Prio Members have any questions, they'll address them.

20 minute massage sessions at the table have been organised for the Prio Players. There are a limited number of these - 24 Tokens in total - & only Elizabeth or JP will issue these tokens. Once they are all gone, that's it.

The Marketing guys, including Mark, (yup, they have Mark the Marketer) who devise & arrange all the Promos on Sky Poker will be in attendance on Friday & Saturday. Again, all feedback encouraged & welcome.

Kirsty, the Content Exec, will be down on Saturday.

Several Really Really Serious Suits will be down on Saturday, too.

2 or 3 Sky Poker or SB&G Staff will be playing the Main Event, as is always the case, SB&G they run their own private qualifier, or they win a seat for good business suggestions or Staff Promos.

Adam, who is the Sky Poker (& Sky Bingo) Very Very Seriously Serious Suit will be in attendance on Monday.

    Hi mate,

I qualified from the final last night and I'm looking for info/advice on a couple things if possible. Do you register beforehand for the Day 1 you prefer, if so how is this done? Also is there a perceived better day to play out of the 3?

    Cheers

    Hi Broony,

Well done last night. You left it late. ;)

You will be entered, by default, into Saturday, which is Day 1c.

However, if you'd prefer to play Thursday or Friday, that's cool, just arrive early on either day, come see me, & I'll sort it, there and then, it's not a problem at all.

Best day to play? Well that's "how long is a piece of string?", & everyone has a different view.

On Thursday & Friday, the field sizes will be small, maybe 100-150 tops on Thursday, & 150 -200 on Friday. Saturday will be heaving, with up to 600 playing.

The Pros tend to play Thursday & Friday, & remember they can fire a 2nd bullet the next day. (But not on Saturday, which is a freezeout).

Saturday will be more recreational heavy, but a much bigger field.

    Decisions decisions.....

So much about a Live Event depends on that thing called the seat & table draw. Get a good table, & a run of cards, & anything's possible. You could get a really "soft" seat on the Saturday, & bust in Level one.

    Poker's great, eh?

    Hi Tikay,

I had to change my address at my bank last week. I took in my passport and drivers license but both have infact expired in 2014! The bank ticked me off but did accept them as I also had proof of address. Do you think this will be OK, or is there any other photo ID I can get before Saturday?

What is the parking like please? If there is parking how much is it for the day say?

Roughly what percentage of the field on Sat make it through to the Sunday???

I've seen Daniel Negreanu take a mobile home to these events. Infact didn't he show you round it at the WSOP??? Is there a designated area where people can bag it  down in the back of the motor??? (Someone had to ask :) )

    TIA

    Hi Rafa,

Well I cannot say for sure, but personally, I would have thought an out of date Passport & Driving Licence would suffice. I'll drop them a note & ask them.

Parking is free, DTD have a giant car park right in front of the Club, & there are no charges. A very good friend of mine who is a true Romany Gypsy always sleeps in his van in the Car Park.

How many progress from Saturday to Sunday? At a guess, 30% to 35%. It varies.

Here's that Danny Negreanu You Tube Video. Amazingly, this was 2013.

I'm thinking about the Friday rather than the Saturday so I'll get there in plenty time and come see you, just going to travel from Edinburgh that morning. Maybe not the smartest move playing in a field with a much higher % of pros but the experience will be great.

I dont know if you remember Tikay, but I had this problem last year in the 6 max, my drivers licence had expired, they let me play but with the proviso that I had to provide further evidence the next day (this was an obvious dilemma given I dont stay round the corner) I bust before day 2 so it was never tested.

Yes, it was tough a tough decision, but I just couldn't justify the petrol money for a round trip to retrieve my passport. I went for a Nandos instead.

You coming by car, or one of your vroom vroom motorbikes?

    Afternoon Vinny.

They plan to play 15 x 40 minute Levels, plus 2 or 3 breaks,  each of 20 minutes, & a buffet break of 45 minutes or an hour, so call it midnight, give or take a bit.*

    * Assuming you survive, that is. ;)
