edited March 2016 in Poker Chat
Just a quick query. Is Sky for UK/Ire players only, or are other European players allowed to play on the site please?

Hi whats the rule with regard to playing from other countries? So for example if you are from the uk and happen to be on holiday in a few countries in asia is it ok to play? From below it states that you can only have an account from these countries created but what about playing while on holiday in another country what is the situation with that?

    Thanks

Due to our products/services being prohibited and/or restricted by local laws we do not currently accept new accounts from any other countries.

    Hi Conor,

The Licensing & Regulatory environment is so complex & varied from nation to nation these days that you should ONLY play on Sky Poker in the "authorised" countries.

It's likely that the site would be blocked in most non-compliant states anyway.

In some cases, you MAY risk account closure in attempting to play outside the approved countries.

Pretty sure Dialbi is Finnish, that's probably why I've seen people comment that his forum posts are hard to read. He's a very good DYM reg, think his location is down as Helsinki.

He's the only one Ive ever seen though.

I Wonder if Omaha is more often the game of choice in Finland than over here? Tamas, BobTheBee and Kailepi all play fairly often. I Can't ever remember seeing many in Holdem cash games.

A very popular game in Finland is called "Soko", which is a form of Stud Poker.

It plays very similar to stud, but 4 card straights & 4 card flushes count as a hand. A 4 card flush beats a 4 card straight, but 2 pair beats a 4 card flush.

At the Grand Casino, Helsinki, they hold Soko MTT's in their big festivals, & Luton regular Lalit Khajuria won the Annual Soko Championship there a few years back.
