Been playing for over 3 years, to begin with, when I won a hand I got that YES feeling
and as I got a little better and moved up stakes, that Yes feeling got a little stronger.
I was not sure where I got my best results, I tried cash, tourney and SnGs.
It soon became clear that Cash tables gave me the best chance of winning Tournies, Im not very good at, and never really
got any better no matter how many times I played,
SnGs are dependent on other players, some stop you cashing by their bad play.
So I stick mainly to cash. There is a freeroll OMAHA at 17.30 that is fun, and one of the few things left on sky poker that is fun.
Now the feeling of dissappointment when losinng, is stronnger than the excitment of winning.
I have cash in my account, and I am keepinng it there, so this is not a goodbye note.
Its just a time to reflect on whether I should continue with poker or find some other on-line persuit.
As I am pretty much housebound, there are very few things on-line that can stretch the brain and give enjoyment.
So do I continue and hope it gets better, or stop, knowing how bad I will feel if I lose all my B/R.?

I took a few months away and withdrew the few thousand pound I still hand leaving sky BR with 0. Now I've restarted my BR again and attempt to build it back to what it was prior to that HR.
high stakes poker will not provide as much fun as micro stakes do. Players are tighter, use aggression in a better way and will ajust to how you play. You'll probably feel like a dominant player in micro stakes and will do actions in confidence. On higher stakes you'll feel more like an underdog at times, bets might be done as a more cautious approach and you'll feel more worried about hero calls.
If it's the game itself that's boring take a break away from holdem itself and set up an account onto global poker site because those will always have omaha, hi lo, 7 card stud even 5 card draw.
And if you feel you miss it, you will come back when you know the time is right.
And if you don't come back, well, you will also know that you aren't missing anything.
That would be my advice.
Pretty much empathise with everything you said here, we appaer to be treading the exact same path, although luckily for me I'm not housebound. One thing though that I do when its time for a break is move across to On-line Chess, there are some fantastic global chess comunities out there, and I would highly recommend chess as a great alternative to poker as a form of brain food! Then when I get bored with chess I go back to the poker.
Strange thing is though, everytime I come back I feel I'm a better player, and my bankroll agrees with me! I must be subconciously assimilating all the information of my time playing. Conversly though, my chess sucks when I go back to that ;o) but I do soon catch up again.
