I've only actually prevented myself getting a greater loss. 7.5BB was commited to the pot from previous actions, the rake itself lost me 5BB. It was himself who lost cash because rather than get 2- -2BB instead he's decided to lose 5BB where as i've ensured only 5BB is lost rather than 7.5BB

I would actually shove in his spot too, especially in a lower stakes cash game or mtt.
its what id consider the ultimate freeroll.
A REALLY high % of people will know that the "nuts" is on board and obviuosly call, with a view to chopping the pot, but there is some % of people who dont know the rules completely or whom arent confident enough to call "allin" so will fold. Also there is a small % of the time that ur opponent will time out or disconnect.
So, even though its not goign to happen many times in ur lifetime, u only need to get it through once  for it to be massively +EV.

I think what Craig is saying is when you factor in the extra rake paid for the bigger pot it ceases to be a freeroll.  

When the river checks through x finishes the hand with £3.45, shove/fold £3.81(+36p), shove/call £3.19(-26p). Means you need to get a lot more folds than you actually will get, considering opponent calling makes him an extra 10p.

shipping this river is a -Ev. shipping in on the river he's going to make a 2p rake become 20p. People who don't know the rules completely are those you normally deem the worse to bluff, they'll just look at their own hand without any thought over the board and all in will be called by most. Those unconfident with the call need a scare and this board provides no scare what so ever it's the highest straight and doesn't have 3 of the same suit therefore is no scare at all. You are correct about getting it taken away from those who've timed out or disconnected but why shove a full stack when min bets will work?
