yes, that's a good point. i used to do that. it is a recent change. i was deliberating which way is most useful. one thing is now clear is that neither format get any/many posts in response. this poll will give me the info i am looking for. it looks like the audience for tables, results etc is no longer in poker chat. we'll see.
My ego has been struggling of late as my results have been terrible, so to give my self an ego boost im going to restart my diary and tell everyone how terrible my results have been, i hope you enjoy it and maybe find someway to add to it.
Hopefully doing this might stop the Drivel of players complaining regularly about things such as playing satelittes for cash, but than rather hyprocritically doing exactly that themselves.
Enough people are interested in the best player tables to keep them going.
On a couple of occasions lines have been crossed and withrdawn, otherwise carry on and keep in poker chat. As per the other poll we need fewer categories not more.

I would just do whatever suits you and is best / easiest for you, whether it be a separate thread every day, or updating same post.
I think it's the "hateful" part not the "drunk" part that is the problem, although if an individual is prone to making hateful remarks when drunk perhaps they should leave the forum alone while drinking.
The use of the phrase 'Best Player' is the only thing that doesn't sit quite right with me. 'Player with the best recent MTT results' isn't as catchy, but is more accurate.
Who is the 'best player' is something that is almost impossible to determine. For a start your system excludes everybody who specialises in cash and SnGs. Also everybody who doesn't play a high volume of the tournaments you report. That's probably at least 95%+ of the players on the site. Of the small group that are left we then have to ask who will be top of the table, the best player, or the player who has run hottest lately?
For example, I think I play OK, I'm nowhere near as good as the best obviously, but even if I go on a massive heater I've still got 0% chance of ever appearing on the list of the top 100 'best players'.

what you do and what i do aren't really the same. similar. you do a fine job posting the results of the 5 or 6 biggest games. i look at player performance totals for the day, week, month, rolling 30 days and year. i do record final tables but have never looked to post full results. if soccer saturday is anything to go by, you are reporting today's results whereas i am producing the league tables and opta stats.
one of the four things i do is "Best Player". you are right with your point about qualifying the title. i think i do in all my posts and on the website. it is best player of those who play in any of the 20 biggest guaranteed tournaments on sky poker every day, or the 7,000 major tournaments each year.
you are right to question what constitutes best. to me there are several ways including highest returns (see hendon mob) or highest profit. you can debate whether it should be judged over just one game or thousands or a period of time. highest return or most profit is not my preference to determine best. a qualitative scoring system produces the most accurate idea of best player. it is all debatable and no one can ever be certain of producing an unequivocal best. nevertheless there are 8 best player leagues on my website under the "Best" tab and you can choose whichever one you feel is the best match.
then, the question of players who don't play in the biggest games. 23,519 players are included so far this year. i remember an uncle telling me that he is the best tennis player in the world. i have never seen him play, nor has he entered any competition but his point was that it was unfair to bestow greatness on someone when he had not been included. i disagree but he has a valid point.
you and i are not likely to be best player. but it is not impossible. to feature in the top 100 i need to do a number of things; firstly i need to play regularly and i need to win a couple of tournaments and a few cashes too. unlikely but possible.
