A few questions arose from this blog as to Sheldon Adelson, who, in effect, owns/controls Venetian & Palazzo hotels.
Here's what Wiki says about Sheldon & internet gaming......
Adelson has fought increasingly hard against internet based gambling in recent years.Despite the legalization, and acceptance from many Las Vegas Casino CEOs, Adelson has poured money into candidates who want to overturn recent state legislation that legalizes iGaming. In early 2015 Adelson publicly backed a bill introduced in the US House of Representatives. The legislation, named the Restore America's Wire Act, has been met with mixed reviews by the Republican Party. For a broader understanding of Mr Adelson's position on Online gaming, just google "Sheldon Adelson, internet poker".
He recently, "secretly", bought the local paper the Las Vegas Review Journal. He presumably felt he wasn't getting the press he wanted. The journalists very bravely said that nobody had told them who had bought it and as far as they were concerned they were going to carry on writing the stories the way they saw them and nobody was going to tell them how to feel about things.
The journalists that took that view are now available for work.
